There are two honest ways to compare proxy providers. Read both pricing pages carefully and match the units, or run the same batch through both and count. This page does the first and tells you how to do the second.

The published numbers

Read from their own public pricing pages on 10 August 2026, and stated as advertised rather than as verified by us:

  • Residential: $0.02 per IP on not disclosed by 9Proxy; third-party tier tables place $0.018/IP at the 500,000 IP package, roughly $9,000 up front.

Every one of those is a published rate rather than a measured outcome. That is not a criticism of 9Proxy: our own page is built from the same material. It is the reason the rest of this comparison is about what published rates leave out.

9Proxy in its own words

On 9 September 2026 the site introduced itself as "9Proxy - Your Trusted Provider for Premium Residential Proxies". The blurb under their search result reads: "Ultra-fast, reliable residential proxies with unlimited bandwidth. Premium IPs, 24/7 customer support, affordable pricing, and a unique refund policy."

Reading the same page for the things buyers actually ask about:

The product lines named on that page are residential. Payment methods mentioned: crypto and cards. We found no separate pricing page linked from the homepage, which usually means the price arrives by quotation.

None of that is verified performance. It is what the vendor chose to publish, recorded with a date so you can see whether it still says the same thing.

Age, and why it matters here

The domain was registered on 17 February 2014, through NameCheap, Inc, which makes it about 12 years old. The lookup behind those dates ran on 23 April 2026. The Internet Archive holds 20 snapshots of the site, the earliest from June 2006. As things stand the domain is held to 17 February 2027.

This proves nothing about the product. It is a cheap check against the one failure mode that costs buyers real money in this market, which is paying a provider that will not exist in six months.

What the search data says about 9Proxy

Search volume around the name runs to 490 a month, split as 260 a month for their pricing, 120 a month for an alternative to them and 110 a month for a review of them. Figures read from Google Keyword Planner on 9 September 2026.

The comparison that is not a comparison

Half this market prices bandwidth and half prices addresses. A per-address plan is cheap for heavy traffic through few exits and ruinous for light traffic through many, and the reverse holds for per-gigabyte plans.

Who else is using your address

Ask how many accounts can sit on one address at once. Where the answer is unlimited or unspecified, price the plan as shared regardless of what the product is called.

Ask whether failed requests are billed

Divide the spend by the successful responses, not by the requests sent. That single change reorders most price comparisons in this market, and your accounting will use it eventually anyway.

Six rows is enough. Longer comparison tables in this market are usually padded with features nobody chooses on, which makes them look thorough and read as noise.

The test that beats this page

It is a small amount of money for an answer that is actually about your target.

  1. Take the smallest paid unit each provider will sell you. A free trial works for a first pass, though trials sometimes ride better pools than paid plans do.
  2. Fire the same batch through both on one afternoon. Different days are different conditions, and that ruins the comparison.
  3. Track the success rate and the bandwidth. A cheap gigabyte that fails half the time is not cheap.
  4. Run a sample of the addresses through an independent lookup, because advertised geography and actual geography differ more often than the market admits.
  5. Go with whichever performed, then measure again next quarter. Networks change underneath you.

Match the units first, because residential is billed per gigabyte, datacenter and ISP per address, and mobile per day or per port. Finish by measuring the success rate on your own target, since a cheap request that fails costs more than a dearer one that works.
Is a cheaper provider usually worse?
Not reliably. Price in this market reflects the supply model and the sales overhead as much as the network. What price does not tell you is the success rate on your target, and that is the figure that decides whether the cheaper option was cheap or expensive. Measure before assuming either way.
Do I have to talk to sales or sign a contract to switch?
