Off by default

You opt in, we do not assume

Under § 25 TDDDG, cookies and similar technologies that are not strictly necessary stay off until you actively turn them on. Our own measurement uses GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly tool we host on our own servers in Germany: it sets no cookies, stores no personal data, and so runs without consent. We would also like to use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which do set cookies and send data to the United States; these stay off until you opt in through the banner, and you can withdraw at any time using the button at the bottom of this page. The table below lists every cookie in scope.

Needed for the site to load, to keep you signed in, and to keep your session protected against fraud and abuse. These cannot be switched off, because without them the site would not function.

Analytics

Opt-in

Information about how the site is used, so we can find what is slow or broken and improve it. Our own cookieless GoatCounter runs always (no cookies, no personal data). Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set cookies and stay off until you opt in.

Marketing

Opt-in

Used only when we are running a paid campaign, to understand whether it is working. We set none today, and any that appear stay off until you opt in.
