ProxyAlternative alternatives on price, pool and commitment

Weighing up ProxyAlternative? What is actually published, what it does not tell you, and how to settle the decision on your own target for a few dollars.

Free proxies won't hold up here.

Shared datacenter IPs get flagged and dropped fast. When it has to hold, gaming, streaming, accounts, you need mobile and residential IPs that read as a real device, from $0.44/GB, pay as you go.

Residential proxies

The answer to "what should I use instead of ProxyAlternative" depends entirely on why you are leaving. Price, a commitment, a country, a support experience and a blocked target all point at different replacements.

What we know about ProxyAlternative, and what we do not

ProxyAlternative trades at proxyalternative.com.

We price the providers we can source and date, and ProxyAlternative is not currently one of them. The rest of this page is about what to check when you read their pricing yourself.

The four figures worth copying down are the rate without a commitment, the smallest purchase allowed, what happens to unspent balance, and whether a failed request still costs money.

ProxyAlternative in its own words

Their homepage title, read on 9 September 2026: "Proxy Alternatives , Proxy Alternative". In the description they hand to search engines: "Discover the best proxy services for web scraping, data collection, and automation."

Taken from the same page, on the same day:

The product lines named on that page are residential, ISP or static residential, mobile and a scraping or SERP API. Support is advertised as around the clock. We found no separate pricing page linked from the homepage, which usually means the price arrives by quotation.

Treat all of it as advertising, because it is. Its value is that it is dated and quotable, which is more than most comparison pages offer.

How far back the record goes

The domain was registered on 23 August 2025, through OVH sas, which makes it about 1 year old. The lookup behind those dates ran on 23 April 2026. As things stand the domain is held to 23 August 2026.

None of it predicts success rate. It is here because domain age and archive depth are free to check, and a provider whose public record starts last quarter deserves a smaller first order.

Whether anyone is still working on it

Our crawl of their site found 234 pages carrying a date. The oldest is from September 2025 and the newest from September 2025.

The most recent date on the site is more than twelve months old. Sites do go quiet without the service going with them, but a year of silence is worth one email to support before you fund an account.

What a pricing page leaves out

The entry price is not the effective price

A starting rate is a marketing number. What you pay depends on the tier your volume lands in, the minimum purchase, and what happens to traffic you bought and did not use. An expiring balance quietly raises the price of every unit you did consume.

What happens at the end of the month

Expiry is the quietest price increase in this market. A plan sized for a busy month is expensive in a slow one, and the difference never appears in any comparison table, including ones written by vendors who benefit from it.

What the lowest rate actually costs

A commitment converts a variable cost into a fixed one. That is a good trade at steady volume and a poor one otherwise, and the decision belongs to you rather than to whichever tier looks cheapest per unit.

The rows that decide it

Here are the comparisons that survive contact with a real workload:

Where a cell points you at their terms, that is because the answer moves and a stale quotation would be worse than none. The missing row, in every table of this kind, is the one only your own measurement can fill.

The measurement that outranks every review

This costs less than a coffee and produces the only evidence that applies to your workload.

  1. Take the smallest paid unit each provider will sell you. A free trial works for a first pass, though trials sometimes ride better pools than paid plans do.
  2. Fire the same batch through both on one afternoon. Different days are different conditions, and that ruins the comparison.
  3. Write down two numbers per provider: the share of requests that succeeded, and the traffic it cost.
  4. Take a handful of the addresses you were given and verify their country and type against a checker you do not control.
  5. Go with whichever performed, then measure again next quarter. Networks change underneath you.

Comparable providers

We hold the same record for these, and the same honest limits apply to each:

Our own position

Our end of it is a wallet, four proxy types and no contract. Residential begins at $0.44 per GB and the balance does not expire. The free proxy list and checker are open to anyone, and they are the fastest way to see how we treat measurement before you spend anything.

Frequently asked questions

Is a cheaper provider usually worse?
Not reliably. Price in this market reflects the supply model and the sales overhead as much as the network. What price does not tell you is the success rate on your target, and that is the figure that decides whether the cheaper option was cheap or expensive. Measure before assuming either way.
How is HProxy different?
The models differ more than the products do. HProxy is pay as you go from a balance you top up when you want, the balance does not expire, there is no subscription unless the optional discount suits you, and residential starts at $0.44 per GB with city and ISP targeting included. Whether that beats a tiered plan depends on your usage pattern, which a short test settles.
Do I have to talk to sales or sign a contract to switch?
Not with us. You can sign up, add funds and send traffic without a call, a minimum or a subscription. Whether another provider requires any of those is on their own pricing page and is worth reading, because a required commitment is part of the price even when it is not part of the rate.
How often should I re-test a provider?
Quarterly is a reasonable rhythm for most workloads, and immediately after a noticeable drop in success rate. Pools are rebuilt, suppliers change and detection improves, so a benchmark from last year describes a network that no longer exists.
Does a bigger pool mean better results?
No. Your job meets only the exits it draws, in the countries it needs, against one target's defences. Freshness and rotation policy move the outcome far more than the headline total, and pool totals across this market are counted generously and rarely audited.

Proxies that don't die mid-job

Residential, ISP, datacenter and mobile, verified by the same engine that runs tens of millions of checks. They read as a real device and hold up under load. Pay as you go, and your balance never expires. $0.44/GB is the 2,000 GB+ rate; a single gigabyte is $0.50/GB, with no minimum order.
