Residential proxies cost a median $2.90 per GB for a 10 GB purchase in October 2026. We read the price lists of 57 providers between September 26 and October 22, 2026, and priced the same purchase at each. The rate falls as the order grows: a median $3.00 per GB for 1 GB, $2.00 for 100 GB and $1.50 for 1,000 GB. The spread is wide, from $0.30 to $9.99 per GB for 10 GB. Our own Residential Lite costs $0.50 per GB from the first gigabyte.
How much do residential proxies cost per GB?
The price of a gigabyte depends on how many you buy. For each provider we found the cheapest single purchase that covers the amount, and took its rate per GB. A pack could be bought more than once, and a monthly plan counted once. We used regular prices: no discount codes, no one-time offers for new customers, and no sales with a closing date.

Fewer providers appear at the larger sizes because some publish no plan that big. At 100 GB two drop out, and at 1,000 GB five. Their pages offer a quote instead, stop at a smaller plan, or show plan sizes only through a script.
How widely do residential proxy prices vary?
Widely. For the same 10 GB, the cheapest list charged $0.30 per GB and the dearest $9.99, a factor of 33.
The three under $1 were Proxiware's Eco pool, at $0.30 on a 10 GB monthly plan, and Rainproxy at $0.60. The third was Evomi at $0.99, sold from 15 GB. The six at $6 or more include Bright Data's $8 list rate and Massive's $80 Starter plan. Our cheapest residential proxies ranking names the 12 lowest, each with its condition.
How are residential proxies priced?
By the gigabyte, nearly always. Our records hold a current residential price list for 68 providers. Of those, 61 publish a price per GB, and 45 sell in no other unit. Fourteen also sell by the day, mostly "unlimited" plans sized by connection speed. IPDeep listed 100 Mbps for $28.50 a day, and Novproxy 100 Mbps for $38.33 a day, in our records of September 27, 2026. A few sell by the hour, the week, the port or the address.
A price per GB is the one unit that compares across sellers, so this study uses it. A day of unlimited traffic only beats it when the job moves a lot of data through one fast line.
What do the best-known providers charge?
Searches for one provider's price are common, so here are ten of the names people search, at two sizes. Each figure comes from the provider's own page, read on October 22, 2026, unless marked.

"Record" marks a figure from our price records of October 12, 2026, where the page draws its table with a script. Bright Data's figures are list rates; a code printed on its page halves them. The best residential proxies comparison sets these providers side by side on billing, expiry, targeting and payment too.
Why is the advertised price lower than what you pay?
Because the lowest number on a price list usually belongs to its largest plan. We compared each provider's rate for 10 GB with the lowest rate its page prints. The median provider charges a 10 GB buyer 2.0 times its lowest printed rate. Nearly half, 28 of the 57, charge at least twice as much.
The gap takes four shapes:
- A volume floor. Rayobyte charges $3.50 per GB from 1 to 49 GB and $0.70 from 1,000 GB, five times less.
- A monthly plan. Webshare's $1.40 belongs to a 3,000 GB monthly plan; its 1 GB plan costs $3.50 per GB.
- A different pool. Shifter prints "from $0.10 /GB" for a pool with no location choice, on large monthly plans. Its 10 GB plan costs $2.00 per GB, the widest gap in our sample at 20 times.
- A discount code. Bright Data's page prints the code RESIGB50 beside its rates. Without it, pay as you go costs $8 per GB.
Undated discounts make the advertised number move too. In August 2026, 8 of the 20 residential price lists we re-read carried a discount. Only one gave an end date, as the permanent proxy sale records. ProxyEmpire, for one, showed its $3.50 pay-as-you-go rate as half off $7 (HProxy vs ProxyEmpire).
Have residential proxy prices fallen since 2022?
For the same providers, mostly yes. We took seven providers with an archived price list from 2022 or January 2023. For each, we compared the price of the smallest purchase then and now.
Bright Data's pay-as-you-go rate was $15 per GB in July 2022 and is $8 at list today. Oxylabs' smallest plan fell from $15 to $6 per GB, and Rayobyte's first tier from $15 to $3.50. Decodo's figure for 2023 is Smartproxy's: the company announced in April 2025 that Smartproxy "has officially introduced its new name, Decodo". The low end barely moved, because it was already low: DataImpulse charged $1.00 per GB in December 2022 and still does.
The archive holds only some providers in each year. This panel therefore tracks the same seven companies and makes no claim about the market's average then.
What does the person behind the address get paid?
Very little of the price. PacketStream, which sells residential traffic at "$1 per GB" with "No subscription", also runs the app that supplies it. Its own home page offers the people who run that app "$0.10 for every GB of traffic that passes through it". On its own two pages, then, the seller's price is ten times what the device owner earns. The pages we read do not say how other providers pay for their addresses. Our comparison with PacketStream covers its terms.
Where does HProxy sit?
Our Residential Lite costs $0.50 per GB for any amount from one gigabyte, and steps down to $0.44 per GB at 2,000 GB+. At 10 GB that placed second of the 58 price lists we compared, ours included, behind Proxiware's Eco plan. Our lowest printed rate, $0.44/GB, sits a few cents below our one-gigabyte rate of $0.50/GB. Several providers in the sample print no lower rate at all: Fastproxy's budget pool and ASocks charge one rate at every size.
Lite targets by country only. Residential Premium adds state, city and ISP targeting from $1.49 per GB, falling to $1.00 per GB at 1,000 GB+. At the largest sizes others beat our floor: Rainproxy prints $0.24 per GB at 1 TB, and Proxiware's Eco plans go lower still.
How do you price your own job?
- Measure the traffic. Run a small batch of real requests and read how much data it used.
- Price that amount on each ladder. The provider that wins at 10 GB often loses at 1,000 GB.
- Read the condition beside the low number. Plan size, monthly billing, the pool it belongs to, and any code.
- Check expiry. Monthly plans and 30-day packages charge the full price in a quiet month.

Method
The sample. 57 providers whose current residential price lists sit in our records, each taken at its latest reading. We read 16 of the pages again through our server on October 22, 2026. The other 41 come from records made between September 26 and October 14, 2026. Some providers we track are not in the sample. Among them are those that price in other currencies, and two whose pages show a headline with no plan.
The rule. For each amount, the cheapest single purchase that covers it, per GB. Pay-as-you-go amounts were priced at the rate for their size, packs could be bought more than once, and monthly plans counted once. We used regular prices without codes, one-time offers or sales with a closing date, and left out IPv6-only pools. When a provider sells several pools, the cheapest pool counts.
The history. Archived pricing pages from the Internet Archive, March 24, 2022 to January 5, 2023, for the seven providers in the panel. Each archived figure is the rate of the smallest purchase that page offered.
Our records have been corrected before, after a re-check in August 2026, as correcting our own price data explains.
What this page could not check
- Prices only. We measured no speed, success rate or pool size at any provider, ours included.
- Pages drawn by script. 41 of the 57 figures come from our records rather than the October 22 reads, because those pages show prices only through a script. Any of them may have moved since.
- Pools differ. The cheapest pool at a provider may target fewer places or hold fewer addresses than its main one.
- Taxes. Several providers add VAT at checkout.
- The archive. The Internet Archive captured only some pages in each year, so the history covers seven providers.
- Check by January 22, 2027. Prices in this market move monthly; the next refresh re-reads every page.
