Uber Eats is the delivery marketplace that covers the most countries, and that reach is the reason it gets proxied. Uber's own help center puts the footprint at more than 6,000 cities across 45 countries (Uber Help), and 2026 added Finland and Denmark while other planned European launches were put on hold (TechCrunch, 5 July 2026). Every one of those markets is its own storefront: its own currency, language, delivery and service fees, promotions, and paid placements. A chain with franchisees in twenty countries, a researcher comparing delivery fees between Paris and Toronto, and a localization team checking that the Portuguese storefront renders correctly all need the same thing, which is to read Uber Eats as a local in each market, from many addresses, repeatedly.
We run geo-targeted proxy traffic for exactly this kind of job, and on 24 August 2026 we also tested ubereats.com against 50 free proxies and one bare server so the front-door section below is measured rather than assumed. What follows is organized the way we plan a job: target first, then the work, the type, the setup, the count, and the limits.
The short answer for Uber Eats
Rotating residential proxies pinned to the country, and ideally the city, of the addresses you read, driving a real browser with one sticky session per address. A static ISP proxy per account for Uber Eats Manager or any logged-in merchant session. Datacenter addresses are challenged at the door, and mobile proxies are the reserve for a flow that nothing else clears.
What Uber Eats is as a target
Uber Eats is Uber's delivery arm, sold to consumers through the Uber Eats app and ubereats.com and to merchants through Uber Eats Manager, with couriers coming from the same driver pool as Uber rides. On the web, the storefront is built from a delivery address: the restaurants and stores that will deliver there, whether each is open right now, the item prices merchants set for delivery, the delivery and service fees, and the promotions and Uber One offers active in that market. The country of the address selects the market, and with it the currency and language. Uber also sells promoted placements to merchants inside the app, so what a shopper sees at the top of the feed is partly paid.
The consequence for anyone collecting data is that there is no single Uber Eats to read. There are 45 of them, and inside each one there are as many storefronts as there are addresses.
Jobs where a proxy is the right tool
- Cross-market menu and price audits. A chain wants to know what its own listings charge in Sydney, Madrid and Mexico City, whether franchisees mark up delivery menus, and how its prices sit against the competitor down the street in each city. The data exists only per address, per market.
- Fee and promotion research. Delivery fees, service fees, small-order fees and Uber One perks differ by country and change over time. Competitors, analysts and merchants read them per market and per address.
- Coverage and delivery-radius checks. Which addresses a store can reach is discovered by asking, not published. Chains verify coverage for every location; newly launched markets such as Denmark and Finland get checked block by block by the people who sell into them.
- Localization testing. The German storefront in German, prices in euros with the right formatting, the correct legal footer, the right promotions. Reading it from a German exit is the only way to see what a German customer sees, a method we cover in geo-testing with proxies.
- Ad and placement verification. A merchant paying for promoted placement in one city wants proof it appears there, at the right hours, to a shopper at a real address.
Jobs where it is not
Ordering from another country. A proxy can show you the Lisbon storefront. It cannot give you a Portuguese payment method or a phone number the market accepts, and an account carries the app's device signals wherever the IP points.
Courier accounts. Identity verification and right-to-work checks. Neither step has an address field.
Promotion abuse and bans. Accounts link through phone, payment and device. Changing the IP changes the weakest link, and using a proxy to get around account rules runs against Uber's terms. We say this up front because the cost of finding out later is your account.
The front door, measured
Our test began with one bare request. On 24 August 2026, ubereats.com answered a datacenter server carrying a normal browser user-agent with HTTP 403 and Cloudflare's "Just a moment..." challenge page. We then sent one request each through 50 HTTP proxies pulled live from our free proxy list, all elite and verified minutes earlier. 39 never completed a connection. 11 connected and were served the same challenge. None returned the site.
The pattern matches DoorDash's front door almost exactly (we tested both the same evening; the DoorDash numbers are in proxies for DoorDash). Cloudflare challenges the combination of a datacenter address and a client that cannot run JavaScript, and it does so before any storefront loads. Past that door, ubereats.com is a JavaScript application: the page renders in the browser, the data arrives through Uber's own API calls, and the delivery address lives in the session. So the requirements are a real browser, a residential exit in the right country, and a session that holds still while you read one address. How to set it up
- Match the exit to the market before anything else. A Danish storefront wants a Danish exit and a Danish address. Uber Eats derives the market from the address, but a French exit reading Copenhagen addresses is the kind of mismatch that draws scrutiny and can change what renders.
- Use a real browser with the proxy set at launch. Playwright or Puppeteer, current user-agent, cookies retained. Launch flags are in the Playwright proxy guide. A bare HTTP client never gets past the challenge.
- Hold one sticky session per address. Set the address, read the storefronts and prices you need, then rotate for the next address. Rotating mid-session loses the address and triggers the challenge again. See sticky vs rotating proxy sessions for how the two modes differ.
- Record the currency and the market with every price. A price without its currency and country is a number with no meaning, and Uber Eats will happily show you Danish kroner one session and euros the next if your exits wander.
- Pace and watch the block rate. Space requests, add jitter, block images and fonts to keep bandwidth down, and treat a rising challenge rate as the instruction to slow down or retire an exit. The rest of the hygiene rules live in avoiding IP bans while scraping.

Residential is billed by traffic, so those exits are a rotation plan,
not a purchase. One storefront read with images blocked stays under
a megabyte; the address list decides the total.
Every address session stays inside what one shopper would plausibly do, and you scale by adding exits in the right countries rather than by pushing one harder. Adding a market for a week costs only that market's traffic under pay-as-you-go pricing.
Where a proxy stops
The proxy's contribution is a local address in the market you are reading, and that is where it ends. No payment method comes with it, no courier identity, no account freed from the phone and device it was created with, and no exemption from Uber's terms, which prohibit scraping and multi-accounting alike. Used carefully, a residential exit lets a legitimate data job read 45 public storefronts the way 45 sets of local customers see them: right country, one address per session, human pacing, and a block rate you keep an eye on.
