Dunkin' turns servers away at the door. On 24 August 2026 a request to dunkindonuts.com from a datacenter server in Germany came back as HTTP 403 with Cloudflare's "Attention Required!" page, a firewall verdict rather than a bot test, and both of the free proxies that managed to connect were blocked the same way. A block is not a challenge; no browser solves it, and the only fix is an address the rule does not match, which for a US chain means a US residential address.
Behind that door is a coffee chain whose geography is the interesting part. Dunkin' passed 10,000 US stores in October 2025 (Restaurant Dive), but the footprint leans hard into the Northeast: New York holds roughly 1,449 of them and Massachusetts more than a thousand, so density, pricing and promotions there differ from the rest of the country. Reading that means many store sessions concentrated where the stores are. The door, the jobs, and the setup that follows are below.
The short answer
US residential proxies pinned to the metro of the stores you read, driving a real browser, one session per store. A static ISP proxy per account for any login. Datacenter and free exits are blocked at the door; the count is below.
Dunkin' as a target
Store menus and prices, built around a chosen store, which vary by region, sharply so between the dense Northeast and thinner markets. Regional and seasonal items, which Dunkin' rotates often. The store locator, past 10,000 US locations and growing. Marketplace delivery menus, priced per store. And Dunkin' Rewards, the loyalty and mobile-order layer that replaced DD Perks, which is not a data job.
Once a US residential address is past the block, the store menu and prices load around a chosen store from Dunkin's own API calls.
Jobs a proxy is right for
- Regional price monitoring. How Dunkin' prices the same order in Boston versus Dallas, and how the Northeast density affects pricing, read per store on a schedule.
- Seasonal and limited-time item tracking. Which markets get a seasonal drink first, and at what price.
- Store-density and coverage analysis. The lopsided footprint is itself a dataset for site-selection and competitor work, read from the locator.
- Delivery-price monitoring. Dunkin's delivery prices per store on the marketplaces, the method in proxies for McDonald's.
- Competitive comparison. Dunkin' against Starbucks in the same market, read from an exit there.
Jobs a proxy is not for
Dunkin' Rewards and app offers. They attach to a phone or email and the app on a device; farming offers runs against Dunkin's terms.
Mobile ordering. A real pickup store and payment method, not a network property.
The door: a block, not a challenge
On 24 August 2026 the direct request from our German server got the Cloudflare block page. The twenty elite HTTP proxies from our free proxy list that followed, one try each, split 18 that never connected and two that drew the same block page; the site never appeared. The rule evidently matches datacenter address space, and possibly non-US space; we did not test a US datacenter exit, so treat that as open. A block wants an address it is written not to match, which for a US coffee chain is a US residential address. Zero of twenty, and structurally so: free proxies are datacenter addresses and the rule blocks datacenter addresses. There is no manual-look case to describe. Setup
- US residential exit, metro-pinned. This is the difference between a page and a block. A Boston store from a Boston exit, where the pool is deepest. Launch flags are in the Puppeteer proxy guide.
- One session per store. Choose the store, read the menu and prices, record store and timestamp, rotate. Sticky vs rotating proxy sessions covers the two modes.
- Concentrate reads where the stores are. The Northeast holds most of the estate, so most of your sessions belong there; size the pool to match.
- Treat a block on a residential exit as a signal about that exit. Retire it and log it. Avoiding IP bans while scraping has the rest.

Bandwidth is the meter and a menu page with images blocked weighs little, so the store count sets the bill; nothing on our pricing page expires.
Where it stops
A US residential address is what turns the block into a page, and it is all the proxy contributes. Dunkin' Rewards, mobile ordering and Dunkin's terms, which prohibit scraping, stay where they were. Given that, a metro-pinned US residential exit with a real browser reads public store menus and prices the way customers in each city see them: one store per session, human pacing, block rate watched.
