Do I need residential proxies, or will datacenter do?

It depends on the target. Many marketplaces screen datacenter ranges, so residential is what survives there; sources that do not screen are cheaper to poll on datacenter IPs. The right approach uses both and escalates only when a site blocks the cheaper option.

How do I see region-specific prices?

Geo-target the proxy to the market you want. A residential exit in Germany reads German prices in euros; one in the US reads US prices. The address is what tells the site which market's pricing to show.
