Proxies for Dick's Sporting Goods run into Akamai with an unusual status code. On 24 August 2026 we sent dickssportinggoods.com a plain request from a home connection and from a datacenter server. Both came back HTTP 451 with an Akamai "Site Unavailable" page and Dick's edge cookies, including its akaa_athlete loyalty markers. A 451 in this position is Akamai refusing a client it does not trust, and it did so from both addresses, so the setup starts with a real browser rather than a clean IP alone.

  • Pace monitoring like a shopper. A steady flood from one IP is what Akamai catches.
