ProxyRack sells residential bandwidth at $1.10/GB, read on its own pages on 10 August 2026. That is one of the lowest published residential rates in this market, and it deserves to be said before anything else, because most vendors we compare against sit several multiples above us and ProxyRack does not.
Against our flat $0.50/GB, ProxyRack is roughly twice the rate. A real gap, and a narrow one by the standards of the field.
The thing that actually decides this comparison is not that number. It is what you have to buy to get it.
Is HProxy a good ProxyRack alternative?
For most buyers, yes, and the reason is structural rather than a matter of one price beating another. ProxyRack's $1.10/GB is attached to a 100 GB per month plan costing $110. You buy the block, every month, and the rate is what the block works out to if you drain it. HProxy sells the same kind of rotating residential traffic at $0.50/GB with no plan, no minimum, and a balance that does not expire.
So the comparison changes shape with your volume. Steady, predictable, roughly 100 GB every month is where ProxyRack's model does what it promises. Uneven months, small jobs, or a project that pauses for six weeks is where buying a monthly bucket starts costing you for bandwidth you never touched.
What actually separates them
- Rate: HProxy is a flat $0.50/GB from the first gigabyte. ProxyRack publishes $1.10/GB, about twice ours.
- Shape: ProxyRack's rate needs a 100 GB plan at $110/month. Ours needs nothing at all.
- Two headlines: ProxyRack's homepage leads residential with $49.95/mo, which is a different number from the $1.10 per-gigabyte rate on its product page.
- Unused data: a monthly block that goes unused is spent. A non-expiring balance is not.
- Range: ProxyRack sells residential, mobile and datacenter. So do we, on one balance, plus static ISP.
ProxyRack pricing vs HProxy: what a month costs
Working this out beats arguing about it, so the table below runs four usage levels through both models. ProxyRack's column assumes the 100 GB block at $110, because that is what its published $1.10 rate requires.

Two things fall out of that, and only one of them flatters us.
The gap collapses as volume rises. At 5 GB the difference between $110 and $2.50 is enormous, and it is entirely an artefact of the plan rather than the rate. By 100 GB the plan has stopped punishing you, ProxyRack's real cost per gigabyte has landed on the $1.10 it advertises, and what remains is the plain rate difference. Past 100 GB nothing changes: the block repeats, the effective rate stays $1.10, and the comparison stays flat at that same distance from ours. 100 GB a month is the crossover, in the sense that it is where ProxyRack stops charging you for structure and starts charging you only for bandwidth.
The direction never flips, though. Drain the block perfectly, which is the best outcome ProxyRack's own page allows, and the month is $110 against $50 here. We could not find a volume at which ProxyRack's residential comes out lower, because $1.10 sits above $0.50/GB at every point on the line and the plan can only push it further up, never down.
One caveat on the 300 GB row, because we would rather flag it than quietly benefit from it. ProxyRack may quote a lower rate above 100 GB. Nothing on the pages we read on 10 August 2026 publishes one, so that row carries the published block forward three times rather than assuming a volume discount we cannot see. If you are buying at that scale, ask them directly. A rate you negotiate beats a rate we inferred.
Which ProxyRack number applies to you
ProxyRack's homepage leads its residential category with $49.95/mo. Its premium geo residential page carries the $1.10/GB rate tied to the $110 plan. Both were read on 10 August 2026, and they are not the same offer.
This is worth pausing on, because a reader who anchors on the lower monthly figure and then reasons about per-gigabyte costs will be reasoning about the wrong product. The pages we read do not state how much data the $49.95 tier carries, so we are not going to compute a per-gigabyte figure for it. Establish what your money buys in bandwidth before comparing any monthly price to any metered one. Where ProxyRack genuinely wins
The rate is close to the floor of this market. Our competitor dataset holds twenty-five vendors with a published residential per-gigabyte rate, captured 10 August 2026, and only six of them, ProxyRack included, sit at or below $1.10/GB. Most of the rest are several multiples above ours. Roughly twice our rate is a narrow gap by the standards of this field, and anyone telling you ProxyRack is expensive has not looked at what the rest of it charges.
A fixed bill is a feature for some teams. $110 a month is a number you can budget, approve once, and stop thinking about. Metered bandwidth cannot surprise you upward with us either, since there is no overage and no minimum, but a fixed figure is easier to put on a purchase order and easier to defend to whoever signs it. If your volume genuinely sits near 100 GB every month, the plan is doing exactly what a plan is for.
Mobile sold by the gigabyte. ProxyRack publishes $1.10/GB for mobile on a build-your-own pay-as-you-go basis, plus a $50/mo bundle carrying 50 GB. We sell mobile as a monthly port at $10/month, with a dedicated option at $25/month. If you specifically want mobile metered by bandwidth rather than rented by the month, that is a shape ProxyRack sells and we do not.
Longevity. ProxyRack has been selling proxies under the same name for years, which in a market where brands vanish and reappear is not nothing. We have written enough post-mortems of disappeared proxy companies to take continuity seriously.
Where HProxy wins as a ProxyRack alternative
Nothing to buy before you buy. $0.50/GB applies to your first gigabyte and your ten-thousandth. There is no block to fill, no monthly floor, and nothing that resets. A quiet month costs nothing rather than $110.
The balance does not expire. Top up, spend what you spend, and the rest waits. A monthly plan you underuse is money converted into bandwidth you never pulled, and it happens every month the work is slower than planned.
Blocked requests are free. We do not bill for blocked or errored requests, which matters more than the sticker on defended targets. If a fifth of a batch fails, a per-gigabyte rate that charges for failures is not the rate you thought you were paying. Cost per successful request is the number that actually lands on your card.
Four proxy types on one balance. Residential, ISP, datacenter at $0.30/IP for IPv4 and $0.10/IP for IPv6, and mobile, all drawn from the same credit. ProxyRack covers residential, mobile and datacenter, with datacenter starting at $100/mo on its homepage headline (read 10 August 2026), and a static ISP job would send you elsewhere.
Volume goes lower, not higher. Our published rate falls to $0.44/GB at 2,000 GB+, and that ladder is printed rather than negotiated. It goes in the direction you would want, and getting there does not require committing to anything monthly.
Who should pick which
Pick ProxyRack if your residential volume is genuinely steady at or near 100 GB a month, you would rather hold one fixed monthly figure than a meter, you want mobile billed by the gigabyte, and a rate roughly twice ours is an acceptable price for that predictability.
Pick HProxy if your volume moves around, if you run bursts with quiet stretches between them, if you want a rate that does not depend on draining a block, or if you would rather hold a balance that keeps until you use it. On a 20 GB month the difference is $10 against $110, and that is not really a pricing argument any more, it is an argument about whether you should be buying a subscription at all.
