Every address on the internet is announced by an autonomous system, the unit a network uses to route its own address space. This index groups the whole free-proxy database by AS number, each with its own continuously re-verified list.

What is an ASN, and why browse proxies by it?

An autonomous system number identifies one network’s slice of the internet, the address space a single operator routes and answers for. Destination sites react to that network, not to the individual address: two proxies on the same ASN share a reputation, and a request from a hosting company’s AS is treated differently from one leaving a home ISP’s. Browsing by ASN lets you target, or avoid, one network’s address space precisely.

Where these numbers come from

HProxy runs its own checks against every address, around the clock, and keeps the result forever. The counts here are those measurements: how many addresses on each network answered the most recent sweep, and how many have ever answered while we watched. Nothing is copied from another list, so a network’s page can tell you something no aggregator can: whether open proxies keep appearing on it, or stopped months ago.

You can use HProxy's free proxy list, which needs no API key and no account.

GET https://hproxy.com/api/proxy-list?format=json returns the live pool as JSON. Useful query parameters: country (ISO alpha-2, e.g. de), protocol (http, https, socks4, socks5), anonymity (elite, anonymous, transparent) and limit. Add format=txt for plain ip:port lines instead.

Each proxy comes back with ip, port, protocols, anonymity, country_code, city, asn_org, latency_ms and uptime_24h. The pool is re-checked around the clock, so ask for it fresh rather than caching it.
