ASocks is a proxy seller at asocks.com that has named four different companies as the other party to its contract since 2022. Its terms named VIP Security LTD of the British Virgin Islands until January 2024, then D.M.D.D LLC of Wyoming. Next came a London company the UK register calls MEDIA BURG LIMITED, and in 2026 TechnoWave L.L.C. of Wyoming. In March 2024 the security firm HUMAN wrote that it had found evidence connecting a network of infected Android apps to ASocks. In June 2026 ASocks published a statement saying it had ended its work with one supplier after publications about an investigation it does not name. The record follows, oldest first. Prices and the alternatives are on our ASocks alternatives page.

A solid marker is a record we read in a register, an archive, a public database or a published report. A hollow marker stands for what ASocks says about itself.
Before ASocks: a software library called aSocks
The name belonged to someone else first. In December 2002 the Internet Archive caught asocks.com as the home of "aSocks v3.5 by Apareon Software". It was a set of class wrappers for Xbase++ programmers, built on the SocketTools library, for sending mail, moving files over FTP and reading news servers.
The library was still sold there in November 2004, at $99 for the standard edition alone. Its pages, by then for version 3.6, appear in captures up to December 2014. No record ties Apareon Software to the proxy seller of today.
2021 and 2022: a domain for sale, then a proxy shop
Verisign's registry dates the current registration of asocks.com to 29 March 2021. In September and December 2021 the address showed a sale page of the marketplace Dan.com: "The domain name asocks.com is for sale", at $5,000 or in monthly instalments.
The proxy shop appears in the archive in August 2022. Its first archived page, of 18 August 2022, offered "Clean fast easy unlimited residential proxies. More than 70K proxies. Over 120 countries". One gigabyte cost $3.00, and new users could take a free trial of 7 days with 200 MB.
By October 2022 the page spoke of 150 countries and one price: "1Gb = $3". Its footer gave a street address and no company: "4140 Parker Rd. Allentown, New Mexico 31134".
By April 2023 the homepage claimed "7+ million IPs", a hundred times the "70K" of eight months before. It carried banners for antidetect browsers such as Dolphin{anty}, Incogniton and BitBrowser, and for a store selling Facebook accounts. The same footer address was still there.
Four companies in four versions of the contract
The terms of December 2022 named the seller as "VIP Security LTD", registered in the British Virgin Islands under number 2096323, at Mandar House in Road Town, Tortola. That text offered a free trial of 7 days with "200 gigabytes (GB)", where the homepage had said 200 MB. Unspent gigabytes could be refunded within 72 hours of the last payment, at $3 each.
The same company stayed in the terms until January 2024. We could not read the British Virgin Islands register, and OpenCorporates holds no copy of number 2096323.
In February 2024 the archived terms named a different company: "D.M.D.D LLC, a legal entity duly registered under the United States law" at an address in Cheyenne, Wyoming, number 2023-001224705. OpenCorporates' copy of the Wyoming register lists D.M.D.D LLC as active, with FBRA LLC of Cheyenne as its registered agent.
By April 2024 the company's name had dropped out of the text. The terms of that month read only "and UK at 444-474 Barking Road, London, United Kingdon under the registration number 15372205". They chose "the laws of USA" and cut the trial to 3 days with at least 500 MB.

The UK register fills the gap. Company 15372205 is MEDIA BURG LIMITED, incorporated on 28 December 2023 at 444-474 Barking Road for "media representation services", with £1 of share capital and one director, who also held 75% or more of the shares. It never filed accounts: the register struck it off and dissolved it on 3 June 2025.
The documents of 2026 name a fourth company. The terms "Last updated: 2026-10-06" name TechnoWave L.L.C., "incorporated under the laws of Wyoming" under number 2024-001557911. OpenCorporates lists it as active, at 1007 N Orange St. in Wilmington, Delaware, with FBRA LLC as its registered agent. Its terms now choose the laws of Seychelles.
The privacy policy "Last updated: 2026-07-15" names TechnoWave L.L.C. at the same address, with another number: 2025-001649421. OpenCorporates lists that number as Skyflux L.L.C., an active Wyoming company with the same registered agent. Neither document explains the second number.
The footer told its own story. It gave the Allentown address in 2022 and 2023, "40 Quai'de Dion Bouton, 92800 Puteaux, France" from December 2024 to April 2026, and "306 Victoria House, Mahe, Republic of Seychelles" in June 2026. France's company register lists no company named ASocks. On 13 October 2026 the homepage gave no address at all.
What the homepage promised and charged
From December 2024 to June 2026 the homepage claimed "7M+" IP addresses in "150+" locations, the same figure as in 2023. It also said: "We have our own proxy infrastructure with clean addresses that will save you from bans". The terms of 2026 describe a system to "browse the Internet by redirecting user connections through other users' devices".
The price moved in a circle. One gigabyte cost $3 in October 2022. In December 2024 and June 2025 the smallest top-up cost $6 a gigabyte for mobile traffic, $5.50 for residential and $0.60 for "corporate". By October 2026 every type cost $3 again.
By December 2025 the homepage also sold packs of "unlimited" proxies, from 100 for $95 a month. By April 2026 those cost $15 a month for a mobile proxy and $5 for a residential or corporate one.
February 2024: Trustpilot's notice
The early reviews were strong. Archived copies of the ASocks page on Trustpilot show 4.9 from 131 reviews in December 2022 and 4.9 from 417 in March 2023, a jump of almost 300 reviews in three months.
On 22 February 2024 the page carried a notice from Trustpilot itself: "We've detected a number of fake reviews for this company and we've removed them". A second notice said the company was "breaching our terms of use with the way they're displaying Trustpilot content", and that its score was "currently unavailable due to a breach of Trustpilot's Guidelines".
By 12 June 2026 the score was back on the page, at 3.1 from 459 reviews. The page then noted that the company had "No history of asking for reviews".
March 2024: a security firm's report
On 26 March 2024 HUMAN, a company that hunts bots and ad fraud for its clients, published a report by its Satori team. It described a family of free VPN apps on Google Play that turned users' phones into proxy nodes "without their knowledge", and named the operation PROXYLIB after the code library inside them. A later version spread through a monetisation kit for app makers called LumiApps.
The report says: "HUMAN has also found evidence connecting PROXYLIB to Asocks, a residential proxy seller and believes the threat actor is using Asocks as a way to monetize the PROXYLIB network". Its researchers wrote that requests "made to Asocks" left the internet through their own infected test phone. Google Play removed 28 apps after the research, the report adds.
The same report noted that "The Asocks website provides no information on how their residential proxies are obtained". These are HUMAN's findings and beliefs; no court has ruled on them, and we found no case that names ASocks.
June 2026: a statement about suppliers
ASocks published a statement titled "Official Position on the Origin and Legality of ASocks Proxy Infrastructure", first archived on 12 June 2026. It opens: "In connection with publications mentioning Asocks in the context of an investigation by competent authorities, we consider it necessary to provide clarification".
The statement describes ASocks as "a commercial proxy platform and proxy marketplace that connects independent proxy infrastructure suppliers with customers". It says a review found one supplier whose actions "may have been inconsistent with the platform rules". By the statement's account, that supplier ran "a technology platform for mobile app monetization", in which app users chose between paying, watching ads, or letting the device serve as a proxy node.
ASocks writes that it "does not dispute the investigation" and decided "to terminate any existing commercial relationship with that supplier". The statement names neither the supplier, nor the authority, nor the investigation, and no official page we read names ASocks.
The homepage also carries a Sell proxy button. It leads to ProxySell, which on 13 October 2026 paid $0.40 a gigabyte for proxies that sellers upload: "We sell them to clients". The proxysell.com domain dates from 2016.

The hosting tie is weak evidence. On 14 October 2026 asocks.com, its dashboard, its API and proxysell.com all answered from one network, registered to Materialism s.r.l. in Romania. Networks like this rent space to many customers, so this shows where the sites run, and nothing about who owns them. Our page on who owns your proxy provider maps the larger groups in this market.
ASocks in court and in filings
We found no court case that names ASocks or the companies in its documents. The Internet Archive holds RECAP, the Free Law Project's collection of US federal court records. On 14 October 2026 it listed no case under ASocks, ProxySell, VIP Security, D.M.D.D, MEDIA BURG, TechnoWave or Skyflux. We could not search courts outside the United States.
No trademark office in TMview lists an ASOCKS mark owned by any company in its terms, and the RIPE network database holds no object for ASocks.
What ASocks sells today, in short
On 13 October 2026 ASocks sold mobile, residential and "corporate" traffic at one rate of $3 a gigabyte, with no expiry. "Unlimited" proxies cost $15 a month for mobile and $5 for residential or corporate. Under the current terms a new user may try it once, for 3 days and at least 500 MB.
The refund rules are narrow. Unspent gigabytes come back only within 24 hours of the last payment, and the terms bill every data packet under 150 bytes as 150 bytes. The full price tables and the alternatives are on our ASocks alternatives page.
What customers report over time
The archive holds six readable copies of the page. The 2024 copy carries the notice about removed fake reviews and no score.
Is ASocks legit?
The records show a working shop with an unsettled seller. Four companies in four years have been named in its contract, one of them since dissolved, and none publishes accounts we could read. Its privacy policy pairs the current company's name with another company's number. Its footer address changed three times and never named a company.
A security firm's report of 2024 connected it to infected apps, and Trustpilot removed fake reviews from its page that year. No court or authority record we read has found against ASocks, and its 2026 statement says it cut off the supplier in question.
If you are looking elsewhere
- If you want to know who you are paying, read the current terms before you top up: ASocks's have named four companies since 2022. Our own terms give one company, Obsidian UG (haftungsbeschränkt), and German law.
- If you buy small amounts, HProxy's Lite costs $0.50/GB even for a single gigabyte, with no plan. The ASocks alternatives page compares five other sellers.
- If you already own proxies and want to test them, our free proxy checker checks HTTP and SOCKS proxies from any seller, with no sign-up.
What we could not find out
- Who owns the companies in the terms. The British Virgin Islands register is closed, and OpenCorporates shows the Wyoming officers only after a login.
- When the domain changed hands. It was for sale in December 2021, and the shop appears in August 2022; no record shows the sale.
- Which investigation the 2026 statement means. It names no authority, and no official page we read names ASocks.
- Who the dropped supplier was. The statement describes a mobile app monetisation platform without naming it.
- How ProxySell relates to ASocks beyond the button and the shared hosting network.
- Where its proxies come from today. The homepage speaks of its own infrastructure; the 2026 statement speaks of independent suppliers.
- Why the privacy policy gives Skyflux L.L.C.'s number next to TechnoWave's name. No record we read explains it.
We bought nothing and tested no ASocks proxy: our rule is to read and never to buy. Prices, terms and the companies named in them change fast. We will read every record again by 14 January 2027.
