Why the dead addresses are listed too
Most free-proxy sites show you what answered on the last sweep and quietly drop everything else, which makes a network look empty on a bad day and hides the thing you probably wanted to know: whether proxies keep appearing on Quickpacket at all. We hold 358 addresses on this operator and none are answering at this moment. Both numbers are true and only one of them is useful on its own.
What a Quickpacket address is and is not
An autonomous system number identifies a network run as one unit. When a proxy sits on Quickpacket, the machine hosting it lives inside that operator's address space, which is what a site sees when you connect. Filtering by network is useful when you specifically want, or specifically want to avoid, one provider's addresses. It says nothing about whether any individual address is fast, private or still alive in a minute.
