Buyers rarely leave a scraping API over features. They leave over a bill that grew, a balance that vanished, a country that stopped working, or a support ticket that went unanswered. This page is organised around those four.
What we know about Scrapingdog, and what we do not
Scrapingdog trades at scrapingdog.com. They compete with us as a scraping API.
We price the providers we can source and date, and Scrapingdog is not currently one of them. The rest of this page is about what to check when you read their pricing yourself.
Take down four numbers and a date: reachable rate, minimum purchase, commitment for the floor rate, and expiry period. Anything less and you cannot compare them to anyone.
Scrapingdog in its own words
On 9 September 2026 the site introduced itself as "Scalable Web Scraping API for Data Extraction, Scrapingdog".
The rest of what the page puts in writing:
The product lines named on that page are a scraping or SERP API. Payment methods mentioned: cards. The page offers some form of free trial. Their pricing page is titled "Pricing - Scrapingdog, Plans That Scale With You".
Every line above is a quotation from their marketing rather than a measurement by us. It is included because it is checkable, not because it is evidence of performance.
Age, and why it matters here
The domain was registered on 4 April 2020, through NameCheap, Inc, which makes it about 6 years old. The lookup behind those dates ran on 23 April 2026. As things stand the domain is held to 4 April 2027.
This proves nothing about the product. It is a cheap check against the one failure mode that costs buyers real money in this market, which is paying a provider that will not exist in six months.
What Scrapingdog publishes
Our own crawl reached 433 of their pages, last run 18 June 2026. The mix was 201 blog pages, 1 pricing page and 1 integration page.
The number is not a compliment or a criticism. It describes how much of their effort goes into being found, which is worth knowing when you are weighing a marketing claim against a measurement.
How recently the site moved
Our crawl of their site found 199 pages carrying a date, 199 of them articles. The oldest is from June 2026 and the newest from August 2026. 199 of them carry a date inside the last twelve months.
Read that as a liveness check rather than a review. It says the lights are on, and nothing about whether the proxies work on your target.
What people actually search about Scrapingdog
Search volume around the name runs to 50 a month, split as 50 a month for their pricing. Figures read from Google Keyword Planner on 9 September 2026.
The biggest slice is people trying to work out what it costs, so the useful thing to hand a reader is evidence rather than an opinion.
Advertisers bid up to $7.63 for one of those clicks, which is a useful proxy for what a customer in this market is worth and for how hard the results page is fought over.
What you still do not know after reading their site
The line item hidden in the success rate
On a hard target, failures are the majority of your traffic. Whether those failures are billed decides the real cost, and the clause covering it is rarely on the pricing page.
Minimums, contracts and sales calls
A commitment converts a variable cost into a fixed one. That is a good trade at steady volume and a poor one otherwise, and the decision belongs to you rather than to whichever tier looks cheapest per unit.
Networks age, so re-test quarterly
Supply changes hands quietly in this industry. The network behind a brand can be replaced with no announcement, which is why a benchmark is a perishable good and a re-test is cheap insurance.
The two of us, on the questions that matter
Set the two side by side on the questions that decide the outcome, rather than on feature counts:
| Question to ask | Scrapingdog | HProxy |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | Not verified by us, read their page | From $0.44/GB, pay as you go |
| Does unused balance expire? | Their terms page answers this | Never |
| Minimum commitment | On their own terms page | None |
| Identity checks | Not published clearly, ask before paying | Card orders are screened, and verification is sometimes requested |
| Targeting | On their own terms page | Country, city and ISP |
| Free way to evaluate | Not published clearly, ask before paying | Free proxy list and proxy checker |
Read the table as a list of questions rather than a scoreboard. The answers on their side move, and the row that decides the outcome, success rate on your target, is not printable by anyone.
The measurement that outranks every review
This costs less than a coffee and produces the only evidence that applies to your workload.
- Fund both accounts with the least money each will accept, and note what that minimum was, because it is part of the comparison.
- Aim both at the page that matters to you rather than a test endpoint, and keep every other variable fixed.
- Write down two numbers per provider: the share of requests that succeeded, and the traffic it cost.
- Take a handful of the addresses you were given and verify their country and type against a checker you do not control.
- Keep the winner, and repeat the whole thing quarterly, because pools age.

What we sell, stated plainly
Our position is narrow. Residential from $0.44 per GB, no subscription, no expiry on the balance, and a public record of what our free network actually does. A provider unwilling to be measured is telling you something, and so is one that asks to be.
