IP2World.com: who ran it, its company names and the shop that replaced it

IP2World was a residential proxy seller at ip2world.com from November 2022 to January 2026. Over those years its own pages named five companies. HONGKONG GUANGLING MDT INFOTECH LIMITED came first, in 2022. ROME BELDEN LIMITED and HONGKONG LINGYUN NETWORK MDT INFOTECH LIMITED followed in 2023, "Data Era Limited" appeared in its terms in 2025, and PYPROXY LIMITED in January 2026. ROME BELDEN LIMITED and FIRENET LIMITED also sat in the code of its footer, hidden from visitors. On 28 January 2026 Google listed "IP 2 World" among brands it said were controlled by the actors behind the IPIDEA proxy network. Two days later a Cloudflare malware warning stood where the site had been. The old registration ran out. Registered again in July 2026, the domain now carries a new shop that names the owner of the IP2WORLD trademarks as its operator.

IP2World at a glance

Unless an entry says otherwise, every record here was read on 14 October 2026. We used Verisign's registry, archived copies of the old shop, the pages of the new one, Google's post and OpenCorporates. We also searched the US and EU trademark tools, US court records and Google's Keyword Planner.

The story, oldest first

A solid marker stands for a record from a registry, an archive or a public database, Google's post among them. The hollow marker is the shop's own claim.

Before 2022: an empty name

The name ip2world.com is older than the shop. The archive holds a bare page with the title "ip2world.com" from February 2004 and an empty page from June 2019. No record ties either one to the proxy seller.

2022: a new shop with Guangling MDT in its footer

When we read the registry in April 2026, it dated the registration of ip2world.com to 28 April 2022, through Alibaba Cloud's registrar HiChina. The archive's first copy of the shop is from 11 November 2022, under the title "Residential Proxy Software Configures Socks5 Proxy IP". Its footer read "HONGKONG GUANGLING MDT INFOTECH LIMITED", and it offered a Windows program called IP2 Proxy Manager.

That company name carried over to another brand. LunaProxy's terms named the same Guangling MDT in 2023, as our LunaProxy company page shows. OpenCorporates lists Hongkong Guangling Mdt InfoTech Limited as company 2746103, live.

2023 to 2025: Lingyun in the footer, other names in the code

By June 2023 the footer named HONGKONG LINGYUN NETWORK MDT INFOTECH LIMITED instead. It kept that name until early December 2025. OpenCorporates lists the company as number 2737870, live, with the Chinese name 香港凌雲網絡信息科技有限公司.

Other pages told a different story. In September 2023 the About page called ROME BELDEN LIMITED "a technology company that has been growing steadily since the launch of IP2World Proxy". It gave an address in the Wanchai Central Building, and the contact page named the same company. By July 2024 the contact page named the Lingyun Network company.

The code held more names than the page showed. From September 2023 the homepage footer carried two lines that browsers do not display, because they sat inside HTML comments: "ROME BELDEN LIMITED" and "FIRENET LIMITED". The homepage kept both until its last archived copy, of 29 December 2025, and its About, contact and policy pages kept the FIRENET line until January 2026. A FIRENET LIMITED owns the US mark of 922 Proxy, as our 922 Proxy company page records.

One office in Wan Chai

Several of these records give one office: Flat or Room 401 on the fourth floor of the Wanchai Central Building, 89 Lockhart Road. IP2World's About page gave it for PYPROXY LIMITED in January 2026. The US trademark file of IP2WORLD gives it for the Lingyun Network company. The US file of 360PROXY, the mark of another brand on Google's list, gives it for a second company, Hongkong Lingyun Mdt Infotech Limited. LunaProxy's terms gave it for Guangling MDT and then for Rome Belden.

One address does not prove one owner. Many companies can register at a single office, and we did not read who else uses Room 401.

The marks: filed in July 2025

The trademark records point one way. Between 9 and 16 July 2025 HONGKONG LINGYUN NETWORK MDT INFOTECH LIMITED filed IP2WORLD in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Vietnam and Brazil. The US filing claims first use on 25 January 2025. The office registered it on 24 February 2026, four weeks after Google's post, as number 8149455.

2025 and 2026: Data Era and PYPROXY

The terms of service named no company in 2023. By May 2025 they ended with a new line: "IP2WORLD services are provisioned by Data Era Limited." That line was still there in January 2026. OpenCorporates holds no company of exactly that name in Hong Kong, only a DATA ERA GROUP LIMITED, and no record ties the two.

In December 2025 the visible footer changed to PYPROXY LIMITED. On 13 January 2026 the About page said "PYPROXY LIMITED is the driving force behind IP2World Proxy" and gave the Room 401 address. OpenCorporates holds no PYPROXY LIMITED. PY Proxy is also the name of a brand on Google's list.

What the homepage promised and charged

The pool claim stayed put from 2022 to 2025: "more than 90 million ethically sourced residential IPs". New users were offered a "$5 Test Plan". In June 2023 the price menu showed rotating residential proxies from $0.80 a GB and unlimited SOCKS5 plans from $86 a day. On 21 January 2026 a page of the site offered residential traffic at 10 percent off, from $0.60 a GB.

January 2026: Google's list and the code signers

Google's Threat Intelligence Group published its case on 28 January 2026. It wrote that "many well-known residential proxy brands are not only related but are controlled by the actors behind IPIDEA". The list includes "IP 2 World", at ip2world.com. Google also wrote that it took legal action "to take down the domains used to market IPIDEA's products".

The post lists the identities on code-signing certificates. Two belong to HONGKONG LINGYUN MDT INFOTECH LIMITED, and one of them carries the serial number 2746134. OpenCorporates gives that same number to Hongkong Lingyun Mdt InfoTech Limited, the owner of the 360PROXY mark. The list also holds two FIRENET LIMITED entries. Google does not say which files any of them signed.

These are Google's findings. No court record we could read names IP2World.

2026: a warning page, a lapsed name and a new shop

The old shop answered until at least 21 January 2026. On 30 January, two days after Google's post, the archive got a Cloudflare page instead. It read: "This website has been reported for potentially distributing malware". Our registry read of 23 April 2026 found the domain on "client hold", last changed on 31 January 2026, with its term ending on 28 April.

The name did not stay with its old holder. On 12 July 2026 it was registered again through DropCatch.com 873 LLC, a registrar. When we checked on 3 August 2026, the address showed a status page from another proxy seller that sent readers to its own service.

By October 2026 a new shop stood on the domain, under the banner "IP2WORLD IS BACK". Its FAQ says: "The domain and infrastructure now operate under new ownership". It also says old accounts "did not carry over". Its terms say: "IP2World is operated by HONGKONG LINGYUN NETWORK MDT INFOTECH LIMITED", at the same Room 401. No record we read shows whether that company runs the new shop or only gave its name to it.

Searches followed the old shop down. Keyword Planner counts 9,900 searches a month for "ip2world" in January and February 2026 and 1,300 in August. Searches for "ip2world login" fell from 1,000 in February to 20.

IP2World in court and in filings

We found no court case that names IP2World. We searched the Free Law Project's RECAP collection of US federal court records at the Internet Archive. On 14 October 2026 it returned nothing for IP2World, PYPROXY or Lingyun. The filings that exist are trademark files: the IP2WORLD marks of 2025 in five offices, and the 360PROXY registration of the other Lingyun company.

What IP2World sold, in short

The old shop sold rotating residential traffic by the gigabyte and SOCKS5 proxies by the IP. It also sold static ISP proxies, unlimited plans by the day and a $5 test plan for new users. It offered a Windows program, IP2 Proxy Manager, and by 2025 a Mac version. In January 2026 residential traffic started at $0.60 a GB. That service, its client and its dashboard are gone, and the shop now at ip2world.com is a separate offer.

What customers reported

The archive holds one copy of IP2World's Trustpilot page, from 6 May 2023. It shows a claimed profile with a score of 4.8 from 40 reviews, every one of them with five stars. One reviewer called it "The best alternative to 911.re". No later copy exists, and we did not read the live page.

A SourceForge listing archived in March 2023 gave "Founded: 2022" and "Hong Kong", with a starting price of $36, and named no company.

Was IP2World legit?

It traded for about three years and named a new company every year or two. Two more names sat hidden in its code. Its marks and the terms of the new shop name the Lingyun Network company at Room 401. Two code signers in Google's post carry the name of the other Lingyun company. Google listed the brand among those it says IPIDEA's actors control, and Cloudflare flagged the site two days later. No court record we could read names IP2World.

If you are looking elsewhere

• If you want one company behind the brand, check that the name in the footer, the terms and the trademark file is the same one. HProxy's terms give the name of its operator, Obsidian UG (haftungsbeschränkt), under German law.
• If you had an account with the old IP2World, the new shop says old accounts did not carry over, so keep any receipts you have. HProxy's Lite costs $0.50/GB for even a single gigabyte, without a plan.
• If you still run addresses bought from any seller, our free proxy checker tests whether they answer before you rely on them.

What we could not find out

1. Who owns the companies. OpenCorporates shows three of them as live and hides their incorporation dates behind a login. We did not buy Hong Kong register extracts.
2. Who runs the new shop. Its terms name the owner of the IP2WORLD marks, and its FAQ speaks of new ownership.
3. What Data Era Limited is. OpenCorporates holds no exact match.
4. What Google's legal action was. Its post mentions it, and no court record open to us names IP2World.
5. Where its residential IPs came from. Its pages said "ethically sourced", and Google wrote that the listed brands are controlled by IPIDEA's actors.

We bought nothing and tested no IP2World proxy, old or new: our rule is to read records, never to buy. The domain changed hands once already, so we will look at it again by 14 January 2027.
