To get an Indonesian IP, your traffic must leave through an Indonesian internet provider. A residential proxy lends you one of their customer addresses. Indonesian sites then show you rupiah prices, Indonesian search results and the ads that run there.
Three things stand out in this market. Telkomsel and Telkom Indonesia hold 54.4% of the country's IPv4 addresses, with 4,879 other holders sharing the rest. Three sellers advertise pools equal to more than 30% of the 18.3 million addresses. And 874 of the 876 working free Indonesian proxies on our list were flagged on October 26, 2026. Our residential proxies target Indonesia at $0.50/GB for one GB.
Which networks does an Indonesian IP come from?
APNIC, the internet registry for the Asia Pacific region, lists every block it gives out, with the holder's country. Its file, with records to October 24, 2026, lists 18,338,048 IPv4 addresses for Indonesia, in 6,298 blocks held by 4,881 holders:
Telkomsel's two records cover 5,789,696 addresses, one of them its "Indonesia Cellular Network" range. Telkom Indonesia holds 4,180,480 and Indosat 2,140,160. First Media and Indonesia Comnets Plus follow, then XLSMART and Biznet.
Below them sits a very long tail. 4,846 holders with 16,384 addresses or fewer share 19.0% of the space. That tail shows in the targeting options: our Indonesia proxies page lists 498 networks for Residential Premium, in 397 cities across 33 regions.
IPv6 grew fast this year. APNIC Labs measured 29.4% of users there as IPv6-capable in the 30 days to October 23, 2026. A year earlier it was 18.2%, and in October 2020 only 0.65%.
How large are the Indonesian pools sellers advertise?
Large, by the registry's standard. We read five sellers' Indonesia pages through our server on October 26, 2026:
The Bright Data number comes from its page title. Its page text shows 313,797 Indonesia IPs, one quarter of it.
These counts add up addresses over a period. DataImpulse shows how much the period matters: 60,952 unique Indonesian IPs in 24 hours, 290,466 in 30 days and 10,827 active at once. Oxylabs' number spans residential, mobile and dedicated proxies. We do not publish our own pool size per country.
What does an Indonesian IP change?
The version of each site you get. Google's help page notes that "IP addresses are roughly based on geography" and that location "helps to show you nearby results". Residential Lite covers Indonesia at the lowest rate. Residential Premium narrows a check to a city such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bekasi or Bandung.
Each site's rules still apply to proxy visitors. Detection data covers residential proxies too, and MaxMind's Anonymous IP database has a flag for them. Our guide to how websites detect proxies covers the other checks.
Why do free Indonesian proxies fail?
There are hundreds, and nearly all carry a flag. Our tracker has logged 22,631 Indonesian addresses from public free proxy lists since May 13, 2026, and 8,883 worked at least once. On October 26, 876 were working, more than in any other country we checked.
Only 65 of them ran on datacenter networks. The rest sat on local providers such as Telkom Indonesia, Lintas Jaringan Nusantara and Biznet. Even so, an IP reputation check had flagged 874 of the 876 and reported 849 for recent abuse. Our free proxy list for Indonesia shows the working ones, which are fine for tests.
How do you pay from Indonesia?
By card is the plain way. The Jakarta Post reported in 2017 that Bank Indonesia set a ban on virtual currencies as a means of payment in regulation PBI No. 19/12/PBI/2017, in force from January 1, 2018. Its deputy governor said "the only legal payment tool in Indonesia is the rupiah".
So from Indonesia, use a Visa or Mastercard card that pays abroad, from $10. The money goes into one balance that never expires, and our payment options page lists every method.
How much traffic does an Indonesian job use?
About 380 full desktop pages per GB. HTTP Archive's 2024 Page Weight chapter put the median desktop page at 2,652 KB and the mobile page at 2,311 KB. Text-only requests weigh far less, so measure twenty pages of your own target first.
Which one should you buy?
For most Indonesian jobs, Residential Lite with Indonesia as the country, at $0.50/GB for one GB and $0.44 per GB at volume. Free proxies are out: 874 of 876 were flagged. Pick Residential Premium for a city, one of the 498 networks or a sticky session of up to 24 hours. It costs $1.49/GB for one GB and $1.00 per GB at volume, and our residential proxies page lists every tier.
What this page could not check
- We tested no speed, success rate or block rate, on any network, ours included.
- We do not publish which Indonesian networks our own exits come from, or how many there are.
- APNIC's file counts addresses given out, which is neither the addresses in use nor a count of users.
- The payment rule comes from a 2017 report. We did not read the regulation itself, and a 2021 report was closed to us by its site's robots.txt.
- Seller pool numbers are what each page showed on October 26, 2026. We could not check what each one counts.
- We will check every number on this page again by January 26, 2027.
