Buy a Residential Proxy for Nigeria: Networks, Payment and Prices

Getting a Nigerian IP means routing your traffic through a Nigerian internet provider. With a residential proxy you borrow one of their customer addresses. Nigerian sites then show you naira prices, local search results and the ads that run there.

Nigeria's address space is led by its mobile operators. Airtel and MTN hold 51.5% of the country's IPv4 addresses between them. Seller pools come to 7.7% or less of the 3.2 million addresses. And all 11 working free Nigerian proxies on our list were flagged on October 26, 2026. Our residential proxies target Nigeria at $0.50/GB for one GB.

Which networks does a Nigerian IP come from?

AFRINIC, the internet registry for Africa, lists every block it gives out, with the holder's country. Its file of October 25, 2026 lists 3,211,776 IPv4 addresses for Nigeria, in 418 blocks held by 294 holders:

Airtel Networks holds 1,050,624 addresses and MTN Nigeria 602,112. AFRINIC's own records name only contacts for these blocks, so we took the holder from the network that announces each one. Broadband providers come next: Swift Networks, Smile, Spectranet, MainOne and ipNX. The University of Nigeria holds 65,536 addresses too.

The ten largest records cover 72.9% of the space, and 275 small holders share 17.6%. Our Premium list for Nigeria reflects the same mix: its 40 networks include MTN Nigeria and Airtel.

IPv6 has hardly started. APNIC Labs measured 5.7% of Nigerian users as IPv6-capable in the 30 days to October 23, 2026, against 4.1% a year earlier.

What do sellers' Nigerian pools amount to?

A small slice of 3.2 million. We read five sellers' Nigeria pages through our server on October 26, 2026:

Bright Data's figure is the one in its page title. The page text gives 31,726 Nigeria IPs, a quarter as many.

DataImpulse's 30-day count, 126,982, almost equals Bright Data's title figure. Its counters also show 58,918 unique IPs in 24 hours and 14,861 active at once. So compare a pool number only after you know its time frame. We do not publish our own pool size per country.

What does a Nigerian IP show you?

The Nigerian versions of sites. Google's help page notes that "IP addresses are roughly based on geography" and that location "helps to show you nearby results". Residential Lite covers the country at the lowest rate. Residential Premium narrows a check to one city. Our Nigeria proxies page lists 28, such as Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and Abuja, across 15 regions.

Sites keep their own rules for proxy traffic. MaxMind, a detection vendor, flags residential proxies in a database that sites can license. Our guide to how websites detect proxies covers the other checks.

Why do free Nigerian proxies fail?

Few exist, and those that work are flagged. Our tracker has logged 330 Nigerian addresses from public free proxy lists since May 13, 2026, and only 70 ever worked. On October 26, 11 were working, 4 of them on MainOne and the rest on small local providers.

An IP reputation check had flagged all 11 and reported all 11 for recent abuse. That is no pool for real work, so keep them for tests. Our free proxy list for Nigeria shows any that are working now.

How do you pay from Nigeria?

Two ways: a Visa or Mastercard card from $10, or crypto from $3. Both top up one balance that never expires. Our guide to buying proxies with crypto lists what each network charges. PayPal is not offered, and our payment options page shows every method.

How much traffic does a Nigerian job use?

About 380 full desktop pages per GB. HTTP Archive's 2024 median desktop page weighed 2,652 KB and the mobile one 2,311 KB. Requests without images weigh far less, so measure twenty pages of your own target first.

Which one should you buy?

For most Nigerian jobs, Residential Lite with Nigeria as the country does the work. It costs $0.50/GB for one GB and $0.44 per GB at volume. Free proxies are out, since all eleven working ones were flagged. Choose Residential Premium for a city, a network or a sticky session of up to 24 hours. It costs $1.49/GB for one GB and $1.00 per GB at volume, and our residential proxies page has every tier.

What this page could not check

  • We tested no speed, success rate or block rate, on any network, ours included.
  • We do not publish which Nigerian networks our own exits come from, or how many there are.
  • AFRINIC's file counts addresses given out, which is neither the addresses in use nor a count of users.
  • Holder names come from the networks that announce the blocks, since AFRINIC's records name only contacts.
  • Seller pool numbers are what each page showed on October 26, 2026. We could not check what each one counts.
  • We will check every number on this page again by January 26, 2027.
