Is my proxy working?test any proxy or list, free

Paste a proxy and this tool opens a real connection through it on every protocol, then tells you if it works and, if not, why. Working or dead per line, with speed, anonymity, country and network, streaming in as each answers. No account, no install.

The test

A real connection, not just an open port

An open port is not a working proxy. The only honest test is to connect through it and require a real request to come back, which is what this does for every line you paste.

01

Open a real connection

We connect through your proxy to a live endpoint we control, on every protocol it might speak, instead of just checking whether the port is open.

02

Forward a real request

A proxy that accepts a connection and relays nothing is not working. The request has to come back through it, which is what separates a working proxy from an open door.

03

Report the reason, not just yes or no

When it is not working you get why: refused, timed out, or answering but not as a proxy. That is what tells you whether to retry it or bin it.

Reading the verdict

Why a proxy is not working,or works and still fails

Not working means one of a few things, and this tells you which, because the fix is different for each. And a working verdict is the start of the answer, not the end of it.

Refused or dead

The connection was refused or reset. The endpoint is closed or gone, and there is nothing to salvage.

Timed out

Nothing came back inside the wait you allowed. Often the proxy is far away or overloaded rather than dead, so raise the wait, turn on a retry, and run it again before deleting it.

Wrong protocol

It answers on HTTP but you tried it as SOCKS5, or the other way round. This checker probes all four transports, so the answer is which one works, not a flat fail.

Working but useless

It connects fine and still fails your job, because it is transparent and leaks your real IP, or it sits on a burned datacenter range. Working is the start of the answer, not the whole of it.

Questions

Is my proxy working, FAQ

The things people actually ask, answered against what the checker does. If yours is not here, the live chat on this page reaches the people who run the network.

How do I check if my proxy is working?

Paste it above and run the check. The tool opens a real connection through the proxy on every protocol and requires a request to come back, so it reports working only if the proxy actually forwards traffic. You also get speed, anonymity, country and network per line, for free and with no account.

What does it mean when a proxy is not working?

One of a few things, and this tells you which. It was refused or reset, so the endpoint is dead. It timed out, so it may just be slow or far away. Or it answered but not as a proxy, which is usually a plain web server that was never a proxy at all. The verdict comes with the reason so you know what to do next.

Why does my proxy say working but still not work for me?

Because connecting is only half the test. A proxy can be perfectly alive and still get you blocked, because it is transparent and forwards your real IP, or because it sits on a datacenter range that consumer sites flag on sight. This checker grades anonymity and reports the network beside the working verdict, so you see the reason before you rely on it.

How many proxies can I check at once?

Up to 100,000 in one run. Results stream back as each proxy answers rather than waiting for the whole batch, so a large list fills the table within seconds. There is no account, no cap on how many lists you check, and nothing to install.

My proxy times out. Is it dead?

Not necessarily. A timeout means nothing came back in the time allowed, which is a statement about your wait as much as about the proxy. A proxy on the other side of the world is not dead, it is far away. Raise the wait per proxy, enable a retry, and re-run the failures before writing them off.

After the check

Tired of proxies that stop working?Stop re-testing free lists.

A free proxy that works today is shared, and shared means it decays as more people find it. If you need addresses that keep working, the fix is a pool that is not handed out from under you.
