Why a proxy

Why use a proxy with ixBrowser

ixBrowser is an antidetect browser that gives every profile its own isolated fingerprint, lets a team share profiles and proxies with permissions per member, and keeps creating profiles free.

ixBrowser keeps each profile's fingerprint apart, but profiles that leave through one IP are still one visitor to the sites they open. A separate HProxy proxy per profile is what keeps the accounts from being tied together by their address.

Setup

Setting up HProxy in ixBrowser

  1. 1

Open ixBrowser, go to Browser Profiles in the left menu, open Profile List and click Create Profile.

  2. 2

On the Platform Account Configuration tab, fill in Platform and Profile Title, then switch to the Proxy Configuration tab and set Proxy Method to Custom.

  3. 3

Set Proxy Type to HTTP or SOCKS5, the protocol your HProxy line is for, then enter gate.hproxy.com in Proxy Host, your port in Proxy Port, and your proxy login in Proxy Account and Proxy Password, all from the HProxy dashboard.

  4. 4

Click Proxy Detection, to the right of Proxy Type, and check that it shows the IP and country you expect. Then click Confirm.

  5. 5

Launch the profile and open an IP check inside its own window before you log in anywhere.

Worth knowing

Custom is the Proxy Method for a proxy you bring yourself; the other methods are for proxies bought inside ixBrowser. Leave the profile's time zone on the one detected from the IP, so the clock and the address point to the same country.

The host, port and login shown here are the format; your exact values are on your dashboard, ready to copy.

ixBrowser questions

Frequently asked questions

HTTP or SOCKS5 in ixBrowser for HProxy?

Pick the one your HProxy line is issued for. The port in the dashboard belongs to one protocol, so a SOCKS5 Proxy Type with an HTTP port, or the other way round, will not connect. Match the Proxy Type to the port you copied.

Why does Proxy Detection fail in ixBrowser?

Most often a stray space or a typo in Proxy Host, Proxy Port, Proxy Account or Proxy Password, or a port that belongs to the other protocol. Copy the four values again from the HProxy dashboard with nothing extra at either end, then run Proxy Detection once more.

Should several ixBrowser profiles share one HProxy proxy?

Not if they are meant to look unrelated. Profiles that share an exit share an address, and the address links them whatever their fingerprints say. One profile, one proxy or one sticky session.

How do I check that my real IP does not leak through WebRTC in ixBrowser?

Launch the profile and open a WebRTC leak test inside it. The address it reports should be the proxy's. If your own IP shows up, turn on WebRTC leak protection in the profile's settings and test again.
