XProxy.io alternatives: software for your own modems, and mobile proxies to buy instead (2026)

XProxy sells software and hardware for building your own 4G and 5G mobile proxies from SIM cards and USB modems. Its software is free for up to 5 modems and costs $59 every 3 months for 10 on its Basic plan; its kits start at $690. Software refunds go only to an XProxy wallet, returned hardware carries a 30% restocking fee, and none of its pages names the company behind it. Two alternatives keep your own hardware: ProxySmart at an $80 setup fee plus $0.80 a modem a month, and iProxy for Android phones. If you would rather not run modems at all, Proxidize and DataImpulse sell mobile traffic at $2 a GB.

What XProxy sells, priced on 14 October 2026

The price page shows the 3-month plans for 10 modems without a script. Its other terms, annual and lifetime, load from a path its robots file closes to crawlers, so we leave them out.

A lifetime licence, by its FAQ, includes one year of support and updates; after that, support costs 30% of the annual plan's price each year. Each server needs its own licence.

XProxy also runs a shop for proxies made on its software, xProxy Market. It sells mobile proxies "from $15/month" in more than 40 countries with "No KYC", paid in Bitcoin, USDT or Ether. It names "TikTok account farming", sneaker bots and multi-account work among its uses. This page gives no steps for any of those.

The fine print

The terms, dated December 2022, set three rules that matter before you pay:

• Software money stays with XProxy. Payments are "non-refundable to external payment methods once activated or used". Cancelling credits the unused days to your XProxy wallet. A wallet deposit comes back to your card only "within 7 days" and only if it never paid for a subscription you later cancelled. This is the "7-day refund window" on the price page.
• Hardware returns cost a third. You may return hardware within 14 days of delivery, with "a restocking fee equal to 30% of the total order value", shipping both ways at your cost, to a facility in Texas. Warranty repairs run 12 months, and you pay the freight both ways for those too. Customs duties are yours, and in Australia an inspection hits 5 to 10% of parcels, at about $250.
• Delivery takes 1 to 6 weeks. A parcel refused or stuck in customs is not refunded, and repeated failures can get you barred from ordering.

The free trial installs XProxy with a script from a second domain, run as root: "curl -s https://x-proxy.io/install | bash". Both domains sit with the same registrar and were last changed in the same second on 12 August 2026, so one holder runs them. Read any script before you give it root.

XProxy lists its 4G and LTE+ dongles with "IMEI: Changeable". The rules on that differ by country. In the United Kingdom, the Mobile Telephones (Re-programming) Act 2002 makes it an offence to change "a unique device identifier", unless you are the device's manufacturer or have its written consent. The maximum penalty there is five years in prison. Check your own country's law before you use that feature.

Who runs XProxy

None of XProxy's pages names a company. The terms say "XProxy" throughout and the footer reads "© 2026 XPROXY". The privacy policy cites California's privacy law without naming a data controller. Both domains are registered at Porkbun, with "Private by Design, LLC" of North Carolina as the registrant organisation. The only location its pages give is a facility in Texas for returns.

The archive shows the climb. In June 2021 xproxy.io was a placeholder that sent visitors to a Facebook page, a Facebook group and one person's Telegram account. By June 2023 it sold kits and software, and said the software ran on Linux computers "or another provider as Proxidize box". Today it calls itself "a hardware + software company" that builds the modems and writes the operating system.

Proxidize's exit, and XProxy's pitch

Proxidize, the best-known maker of modem kits, made its Proxy Builder "a legacy platform" on 3 June 2026: still sold in its app, with "no new features or updates" planned. Our Proxidize page covers that change. XProxy's comparison page speaks to those owners directly: "updates for USB modem setups have been halted. Don't let your physical hardware investment go to waste". Its savings table rests on its own assumption of "$30/SIM per month" for unlimited data plans. Data plans and carriers' rules on tethering vary by country, so test that figure against your own SIM contracts.

Other software for your own modems

ProxySmart prices by a formula in its own calculator: an $80 setup fee plus $0.80 a modem a month, cut to $0.56 for terms of 7 to 12 months. For 10 modems that is $104 for 3 months or $147.20 for a year. It offers a free demo and names no company on its home page.

iProxy turns Android phones into proxies, at $9 or $12.50 a phone for 30 days; its footer names iProxy Online Solutions LLC, USA. It suits a phone farm rather than USB dongles.

Proxidize Proxy Builder remains on sale inside Proxidize's app, but it no longer gets updates, which matters for software that talks to modems and carriers.

Or buy mobile traffic instead

Running modems means SIM contracts, hubs, heat and repairs. Buying traffic by the gigabyte skips all of it.

• Proxidize, run by Proxidize Ltd of England: $2 a GB at every tier, "KYC required", and money back within 30 days if you used under 10 GB.
• DataImpulse, whose terms name Softoria LLC of Florida: $2 a GB, and "Credit never expires".
• Decodo, run by Data troops, UAB: $275 for a 100 GB monthly plan, or $4 a GB pay as you go.
• Oxylabs, Oxylabs, UAB: $500 a month for up to 100 GB.

Build or buy: the arithmetic

Take ten modems on XProxy Basic. The software costs $19.67 a month. The hardware starts near $980 once: the XB22 box at $250, ten XH22 dongles at $65 and a powered hub at $80. Add XProxy's own figure of $30 a SIM, and the ten lines cost about $320 a month to run. The same $320 buys 160 GB of mobile traffic at $2 a GB, with no hardware to keep alive. Building pays off only if your farm carries more than that each month, on data plans that allow it.

Where HProxy fits

We sell mobile proxies by the gigabyte as well: $1.50 per GB, paid from a balance that does not expire. If residential addresses suit your job, those start at $0.50 per GB.

Which one to pick

• XProxy if you want to own modems and hardware and accept wallet-only software refunds.
• ProxySmart for the cheapest modem software over a year.
• iProxy if your farm is Android phones.
• Proxidize or DataImpulse to buy mobile traffic at $2 a GB without hardware.
• Decodo or Oxylabs for monthly mobile plans from large sellers.

What we could not find out

No record we found names the company behind XProxy. Its annual and lifetime prices load from a path its robots file closes, so we did not read them. We bought nothing and ran no modem, so nothing here measures speed, rotation time or how long a farm stays up. SIM data prices and tethering rules vary by country and carrier; XProxy's $30 is its own figure. Proxy Builder's current price shows only inside Proxidize's app. We plan to read these prices again by 14 January 2027.
