Oxylabs is sold by oxylabs, UAB, a Vilnius company with company code 302166536 and 286 insured staff in October 2026. Lithuania's register shows that this company was set up on 28 October 2008 as UAB "TESONET". In 2018 it became Teso LT, and on 30 November 2022 it took the Oxylabs name. Its lawyers told a US appeals court in 2023 that it is wholly owned by coretech lt, UAB, and named the same parent in another court on 21 July 2026. Since spring 2026 its chief executive has been Vytautas Savickas, who ran Decodo before, and Warburg Pincus put in 130 million dollars in July 2026. What follows is the record, oldest first. Prices and the alternatives are on our Oxylabs review.

The story, oldest first

Tesonet to Oxylabs: the record. timeline: 28 Oct 2008, UAB "TESONET" set up in Vilnius. 17 Nov 2014, Network maintainer Tesonet-MNT created. 30 Nov 2015, oxylabs.io registered. 2015, Tesonet: "Year founded: 2015". A solid marker is a record we read in a register, a court file, an archive or a public database; a hollow marker means the company or its backer said it.

2008: a company called Tesonet

The company that sells Oxylabs today is older than the brand. Its register entry shows UAB "TESONET" set up on 28 October 2008 at Stanevičiaus street 47-46 in Vilnius, with 10,000 litas of share capital in 100 shares. Its first director appears in the register by initials alone.

VAT registration followed on 22 January 2009, and a move to Kareivių street 6 in October 2013. Filed accounts show 1.27 million euros of revenue in 2014. In the RIPE network database, a maintainer called "Tesonet-MNT" appears on 17 November 2014. An object "Tesonet Ltd" at the same Kareivių street address follows in March 2016.

Tesonet's own About page tells the story another way, naming Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas as co-founders: "In 2012, one of those ideas finally took off." The page does not mention 2008.

2015 to 2018: the Oxylabs name and its first products

Identity Digital's registry dates oxylabs.io to 30 November 2015. Certificate logs show the first TLS certificate two weeks later, on 14 December 2015, and first pages appear in the Internet Archive in January 2016.

By February 2016 the homepage was titled "OxyLabs.io - Next Level Scraping Solutions". Two products were on offer: an "Advanced IP Rotator" and a "Static IP List" with "500 000+ premium dedicated proxies", plus a form for a "free 7-day trial". Through 2017 the title read "Premium Dedicated Proxies", for a network in "more than 100 locations".

Residential proxies came next, in 2017 by the date on Oxylabs' About page. By August 2018 the homepage said: "We own a pool of 1M Data Center IPs and a Residential proxy network with 10M residential IPs from more than 180 countries."

Tesonet's portfolio lists oxylabs.io with "Year founded: 2015", while Oxylabs itself calls Julius Černiauskas "our founder". Court filings show who sold the service in those years: the company then still called UAB "TESONET". Revenue rose from 1.2 million euros in 2015 to 11.0 million in 2018.

2018: a lawsuit, a new name and four new firms

The year began with a warning: Luminati, the firm now called Bright Data, wrote to Tesonet on 14 February 2018, as its later complaint says. The letter said that "products and services offered under Tesonet's 'OxyLabs' brand" infringe its patents, and Tesonet's counsel denied this on 20 June 2018.

In March the brand was filed for protection: the OxyLabs word mark reached the EU trademark office on 16 March 2018 and Canada's office on 26 March 2018. Canada's register lists UAB Teso LT, the later name of the same company, as an earlier owner. No opposition was filed, and the EU registered the mark on 30 June 2018.

Luminati sued UAB Tesonet on 19 July 2018 in the Eastern District of Texas, case 2:18-cv-00299. Its complaint described "a residential proxy network with ten million residential IP addresses from more than 180 countries".

Two months later the company changed its name, to "Teso LT, UAB" from 24 September 2018 in the register; Teso LT's own court answer gives 14 September. From 28 September the register marks it as taking part in a separation, the Lithuanian procedure for splitting part of a company off into new ones.

That status ended on 19 November 2018, and the same day four new companies entered the register at Teso LT's address on Goštauto street, or soon moved there:

companycodewhat happened to it
oxysales, UAB304950768Merged into Teso LT in 2022. Struck off on 5 January 2023.
metacluster lt, UAB304950825Merged into Teso LT in 2022. Struck off on 5 January 2023.
code200, UAB304950857Still active, with 6 staff in October 2026 and 22.3 million euros of revenue in 2025.
coretech lt, UAB304953472Still active, with 125 staff in October 2026. It owns Oxylabs, UAB today.

Teso LT explained the change in its own answers to Luminati's questions, dated 3 May 2019. Luminati's amended complaint of 23 July 2019 cites them: the September 2018 restructuring led to "the creation of the following sister companies to Teso LT: Oxysales, UAB, Metacluster lt, UAB, Code200, UAB and Coretech, UAB". Since then, the filing says, Teso LT itself had sold the "'Oxylabs Residential Proxy Service,' provided previously by named defendant Tesonet".

The accounts changed in the same year. In 2019, its first full year, code200 reported 9.4 million euros of revenue, while Teso LT's revenue fell from 11.0 million euros in 2018 to 4.5 million in 2019, with a net loss of 0.9 million.

Who sold the service: the contract, version by version

The contracts name the seller: the acceptable use policy for residential proxies, archived in August 2019, says the customer deals with "Teso LT, UAB ('Teso LT') - the owners of Residential proxies" and speaks of "the Agreement between Teso LT and Customer".

Neither the privacy policy nor the licence text of that year, "last updated on January 5, 2019", named a company in the text we read. The terms for shared datacenter proxies, last updated on 3 May 2022, were "offered by Teso LT, UAB a Lithuanian corporation, registered at A. Goštauto 40A Vilnius".

From the General Conditions of 1 December 2022, the party is "oxylabs, UAB" on Švitrigailos street. Self-service terms of 2023 and 2024 say the same and choose Lithuanian law and Lithuanian courts.

The brand took a different road: Canada's register recorded a transfer of the OxyLabs mark on 7 June 2019 and lists oxysales, UAB as a later owner. Oxysales then assigned it to coretech lt, UAB on 4 January 2022. Today the EU file shows Coretech LT as owner, and WIPO lists it as holder of the international mark 1435242. The firm that signs the contracts and the firm that owns the name are two different companies.

2019 to 2021: three years of patent fights with Luminati

Oxylabs answered in public with a page, archived on 10 January 2019, titled "Bust the Bully: $100,000 for Prior Art". Money was on offer for evidence against Luminati's patents, and the page said Luminati was "threatening companies for alleged patent infringement without any evidence".

Luminati filed two more suits on 6 December 2019: case 2:19-cv-00395 named Teso LT, Oxysales and Metacluster LT over three residential proxy patents. Case 2:19-cv-00396 named code200, Oxysales and Metacluster LT over datacenter technology.

The first case ended in a deal, which Oxylabs dates to 3 January 2020. On 4 February 2020 the court dismissed "all claims and counterclaims" with prejudice, each side bearing its own costs.

Then the Oxylabs firms sued: on 5 March 2020, Teso LT, Metacluster LT and code200, calling themselves "collectively, 'Oxylabs'", filed against Luminati and its owner, EMK Capital. They alleged a self-described "war" meant to lead to "Oxylabs either going out of business or being acquired by Defendants at a favorable price". That case ended on 20 April 2021, after a joint motion to dismiss.

The main patent case went to trial. On 5 November 2021 a jury found that the Oxylabs firms had infringed, that no asserted claim was invalid, and that the infringement was willful. Lost profits were set at "$7,474,876.00", and the court later denied Bright Data's request for an injunction. Oxylabs wrote on its legal timeline that it was "legally entitled to continue providing the accused services".

2022: Webshare, a merger and the name oxylabs, UAB

On 7 September 2022 the Internet Infrastructure Coalition launched the Ethical Web Data Collection Initiative. Its release named five founding members, among them Smartproxy, called Decodo today: "Coresignal, Oxylabs, Smartproxy, Sprious, and Zyte."

Thirteen days later Oxylabs bought Webshare. Oxylabs' post, first archived on 20 September 2022, says Webshare was "established in 2019 by Utku Zihnioglu" and had "over 10,000 active customers". Webshare was to stay "an independent entity", and the deal was "financed through Oxylabs cash reserves". The post names Norton Rose Fulbright as the law firm in charge, supported by Sorainen. Sorainen's own note of that day gives the only figure: the price was not disclosed, but "according to Oxylabs, it exceeds USD 50 million". Tesonet's portfolio lists Webshare with "Investment year: 2022".

The paper reshuffle came next: on 6 October 2022 the register marks Teso LT, Oxysales and Metacluster LT as parts of one reorganisation. Teso LT took the name oxylabs, UAB on 30 November 2022. A move to Švitrigailos street 32 followed on 16 December 2022, and both merged firms were struck off on 5 January 2023.

Company code 302166536 in the register. It was UAB TESONET from 2008, Teso LT, UAB from 2018 and oxylabs, UAB from 2022.
Three names under one code, from Lithuania's register, read 10 October 2026

The lawyers confirmed it in a certificate filed with the Federal Circuit on 26 July 2023: "Teso LT, UAB is now known as oxylabs, UAB. oxylabs, UAB is wholly owned by coretech lt, UAB." It adds that Oxysales and Metacluster were "merged into Teso LT, UAB" in 2022.

Who owns whom, on the record. 1 foreign company to Coretech LT, UAB to oxylabs, UAB. Coretech LT, UAB to code200, UAB.

2023 to 2026: the patents behind the verdict fall

Bright Data opened a new front on 27 January 2023, a trademark case in Waco, Texas, where it alleges that the name "Web Unblocker" copies its own "Web Unlocker". Google ads reading "Data With Bright Solutions" on searches for its name are part of the complaint too. Oxylabs' motion to dismiss was denied on 10 November 2025, and the case is still open.

The verdict case stopped a month later, when the court stayed it on its own motion on 28 February 2023 until the Patent Office had ruled on every challenge to the three patents. By then the court counted three reviews of the '319 patent and three of the '510 patent. A re-examination of the '614 patent had already rejected every claim asserted against Oxylabs.

The Patent Office's appeal board ruled from May to September 2023, holding all challenged claims of the '319 and '510 patents unpatentable. These included the four claims behind the verdict on those two patents, and Bright Data appealed.

On 1 August 2025 the Federal Circuit affirmed in an opinion covering ten reviews brought by code200, the Oxylabs firms and two other firms. The board had found "the challenged claims of four of its patents unpatentable ... We disagree and affirm the Board." The Supreme Court's docket shows Bright Data's petition, case 25-779, denied on 23 February 2026.

No judgment followed the verdict: the docket of the 2019 case shows none, and its last filing is a notice from Oxylabs of 4 August 2025. Oxylabs says the board also upheld the rejection of the '614 claims on 1 April 2026; we did not read that decision.

Two smaller cases stand still as well. Metacluster LT sued Bright Data over three Oxylabs patents on 7 January 2022, and that case was stayed on 6 March 2026. Bright Data's claim over another patent, '317, became a case against "Oxylabs, UAB (f/k/a Metacluster LT, UAB)" in April 2023, stayed since August 2025.

The numbers behind the growth

Oxylabs, UAB and its earlier names: revenue by year. bar: 2014 1.3, 2015 1.2, 2016 4.3, 2017 7.1, 2018 11, 2019 4.5, 2020 9, 2021 16.7, 2022 37.8, 2023 44.9, 2024 80.9, 2025 139.5.

The filed accounts show revenue of 37.8 million euros in 2022, 44.9 million in 2023, 80.9 million in 2024 and 139.5 million in 2025, when net profit reached 62.7 million euros, 45% of revenue. One company code holds the whole series, but the business inside it changed shape in 2016, 2018 and 2022.

Staff numbers in the free social insurance data start in October 2021, with 22 people, and on 7 October 2026 the same company had 286. Coretech LT, the parent, had 125 that week, and code200 had 6.

The claims grew faster than the accounts: the homepage said 30M+ residential addresses in 2019, 70M+ by July 2020 and 100M+ in January 2021. From 2022 to January 2025 it said "102M+ IPs in 195 countries", and by July 2025 "177M+".

The client count moved in larger steps, from "over 700+ clients" on the About page of August 2019 to "3,500+ clients" on the homepage in January 2025 and "4000+" in July 2025. By April 2026 the About page said "15,000+", and three months later Warburg Pincus wrote "over 350,000 customers". No page we read explains the jumps.

2025 and 2026: ScrapingBee, a new chief and 130 million dollars

The scraping service ScrapingBee joined next, with a post titled "ScrapingBee is joining Oxylabs' group" first archived on 19 June 2025. ScrapingBee "will keep operating as a separate product and entity", the post says, and Tesonet lists it with "Investment year: 2025".

The leadership changed in March 2026, in an Oxylabs post of 25 March: "Julius Černiauskas, our founder and CEO, is transitioning to Chairman of the Board starting next quarter." It names "Vytautas Savickas" as the new "CEO of Oxylabs group". Decodo announced the same day that Savickas, who "led Decodo as CEO for the better part of a decade", was "moving to new ventures".

The register moved a week later, when the manager of Oxylabs, UAB changed on 2 April 2026, the same day as code200's. Coretech LT's owner data changed on 3 and 7 April and its manager on 9 April 2026. None of the new names appear in the register.

The money came in July: Warburg Pincus announced on 9 July 2026 a "$130 million investment" from its Capital Solutions Founders Fund, "valuing the company at $3.6 billion". Warburg called this "Oxylabs' first outside investment since its founding in 2015". Oxylabs' own post claims "$350 million in ARR" and "over 160 patents", and calls itself "the second unicorn to emerge from the Tesonet accelerator".

The parent stayed the same on paper: on 21 July 2026, in the Reddit case in New York, Oxylabs filed a disclosure that names coretech lt, UAB as its corporate parent. No record we read says which company Warburg Pincus bought into.

Reddit v SerpApi, Oxylabs UAB and others, Southern New York, 1:25-cv-08736defendantOxylabs' motion to dismiss fully briefed, not yet decided.

The Reddit case, 2025. Reddit sued SerpApi, Oxylabs UAB, AWMProxy and Perplexity on 22 October 2025. Reddit's amended complaint alleges that in two weeks of July 2025 Oxylabs reached 781 million Google result pages with Reddit content, by getting around Google's anti-bot checks. Oxylabs moved to dismiss on 21 July 2026, arguing that Reddit lacks standing, that no Reddit-written content is alleged, and that the US copyright law cited does not reach its conduct abroad. Most of the other defendants' motions were denied on 31 July 2026. Oxylabs' motion was undecided at the last filing we read, on 9 October 2026.

The IRL app, 2024. Oxylabs is not a party here. SVF II Aggregator (DE) LLC, a SoftBank fund, sued five people in the Northern District of California (4:23-cv-03834). It calls them IRL insiders, and two of them co-founded the social app. The fund's amended complaint, filed on 3 June 2024, alleges that much of IRL's user activity came from bots using proxy addresses. It adds that IRL paid the proxy firms through third parties. One passage reads: "IRL paid OxyLab--primarily through Format Agency--over $318,000 from December 2021 through December 2022". The court stayed the case on 22 September 2025.

What Oxylabs sells today, in short

Oxylabs sells residential, mobile, ISP and datacenter proxies, next to scraping APIs and datasets. On 10 October 2026 its price page offered "Single subscription. All product access." The smallest plan, Starter, cost 30 dollars a month and bought residential traffic at 6 dollars a gigabyte, up to 5 GB. Enterprise plans started at 2,500 dollars a month, with residential traffic at 2.50 dollars a gigabyte from 1,000 GB. The page notes that VAT may apply. The archived copy of 18 July 2026 still showed separate residential plans, from Starter at 5 GB for 30 dollars to Corporate at 2,500 dollars.

Smallest residential plan, dollars per GB. line chart over 8 points: list price per GB, smallest monthly plan.

The smallest commitment fell faster than the rate. In August 2019 the smallest plan cost 600 dollars a month for 50 GB. From 2020 to 2023 it was 300 dollars, then 99 dollars at list price from 2024, with discounts shown in 2025, and 30 dollars in 2026.

The fine print bites in three places. Under the self-service terms, last updated on 25 September 2024, plan traffic is valid for one calendar month and then expires. The same terms allow a refund within three calendar days if no more than 20% of the plan was used. The price page changed its answer between July and October 2026. In July it read "Only our Self-Service products are refundable". On 10 October it read "All purchases made through self-service are non-refundable", and offered a welcome credit of 5 dollars to test the products instead. Every customer answers a questionnaire, and the KYC page says "Only 75% of customers are approved". Our Oxylabs review has the full price tables.

As for where the addresses come from, the About page says every address "comes from an informed and consenting user who receives value in exchange for sharing their traffic". A post of 2020 says most of the network is "tier A+" apps with explicit consent. In July 2026 Oxylabs named Honeygain, which it calls "one of the biggest passive income applications out there", as the app behind its "ethical proxy procurement framework".

Is Oxylabs legit?

The records describe a real and large business: Oxylabs, UAB has filed accounts under one company code since 2008. Social insurance is paid for 286 people, and the company paid 4.2 million euros to the Lithuanian tax office from January to August 2026. Brand protection in the EU dates from 2018, and proxies have been sold under the Oxylabs name since 2016.

The court record cuts both ways: a jury found willful infringement in 2021, but the patents behind that verdict were later held unpatentable, and no judgment has been entered on it. Reddit's claims are allegations, with Oxylabs' motion to dismiss still pending.

Two things are not on the record: who owns Coretech LT, and what share of the group Warburg Pincus now holds.

If you are looking elsewhere

  • If you want a provider outside the Tesonet portfolio, leave Decodo, Webshare and ScrapingBee off the list too. Our Oxylabs review prices five other networks side by side.
  • If your use is uneven, Oxylabs plan traffic expires after a calendar month. HProxy sells $0.50/GB for one gigabyte of Lite with no plan, and purchased gigabytes have no scheduled expiry date. The tier-by-tier version is in HProxy vs Oxylabs.
  • If you want to see where an address sits, our free proxy checker shows whether it answers, how fast, and from where. Oxylabs' own gateways sat on Datacamp Limited's network when we looked on 10 October 2026.

What we could not find out

  1. Who owns Coretech LT. The free register says "1 foreign company". No filing we read names it, and Tesonet's page gives no stake.
  2. What Warburg Pincus bought. The release gives an amount and a value, not the company or the share.
  3. What was split off in 2016, and what changed in 2023 and 2024. The register shows a separation in 2016, a separation at code200 that ended in December 2023, and a reorganisation at Oxylabs, UAB that ended in April 2024, without the names of the other companies.
  4. Who holds the patents. On 10 October 2026 Oxylabs listed about 70 and claimed 160+. The US assignment records did not answer our server.
  5. The client count. From 4,000+ in July 2025 to 15,000+ in April 2026, and 350,000 in July 2026, with no explanation on the pages we read.
  6. Whether the mark is registered in the United States. We found no US record.
  7. Why a Decodo filing carries the letters OXYL. The trademark office shows the docket number, not what it means.

We bought nothing and tested no Oxylabs proxy, since our rule is to read and never to buy. Prices, staff numbers and court dockets change fast, so we will check this page again by 10 January 2027.
