This is an obituary written from public records rather than gossip. Japanproxy has stopped answering, and the registration and archive trail is the only honest account of it available.
When the lights went out
On 9 September 2026 the name resolved to nothing usable (ENOTFOUND). Three attempts, two protocols, no response.
Archive coverage stops at March 2022, after 3 good captures. The crawler kept visiting. There was nothing left to save.
What the last capture shows
Archived March 2022, the page called itself "japanproxy.asia". Its search snippet read: "This domain may be for sale!"
Read it as the pitch rather than the product. Its value is that the Internet Archive holds it independently of us and of them, so anyone can check the quotation.
What they sold
The archive first captured a working page in August 2019.
The public record holds that much. It shows a company that was real and shipping, and nothing about how well.
We stop short of a cause deliberately. The registration and archive trail shows when things stopped and nothing about why, and the difference between those two claims is the difference between a fact and a defamation.

What still works
Japanproxy is not coming back, so the question is what to use this week. Our free proxy list carries a last-checked time on every entry and re-verifies every few minutes; anything that stops answering leaves the list. The proxy checker tests a single address if you would rather bring your own.
Expect the limits that come with free: shared addresses that targets have seen before, and no session persistence, which breaks anything behind a login.
