Best Proxy is gone. This page sets out what the public record actually shows about when and how, what the site looked like while it traded, and what a customer left holding an account should do now.
The date it stopped
The domain is dark as of 9 September 2026 (ENOTFOUND). Neither the apex nor the www host returns anything.
Of 19 archived captures that actually loaded, the newest is August 2025. That is where the trail ends.
What it said about itself at the end
The last working capture is from August 2025. Its title read "best-proxy.site - Diese Website steht zum Verkauf! - Informationen zum Thema best proxy.". The banner line read "best-proxy.site".
Archived marketing is still marketing. What makes it worth quoting is that it cannot be edited after the fact, so it is a fixed record of the promise being made at the time.
What it looked like while it traded
The archive first captured a working page in May 2018.
None of it is a verdict on quality. It is the shape of a business that existed, which is worth establishing before anything else, because this market also contains names that never traded at all.
Search demand has not caught up with the shutdown. About 10 searches a month still carry the name, read 9 September 2026.
The honest limit here: we can show you the ending and not the reason for it. Anyone publishing a confident explanation of a small provider's shutdown is usually repeating a forum rumour, and we would rather leave the gap visible.
More of the same record
We keep the same record for these, each re-checked the day it was written:
- What happened to 922 S5 Proxy
- What happened to Amethyst
- What happened to Anyproxy
- What happened to Awebproxy
- What happened to Blackvpn
- What happened to Browser
What to use instead
For anyone with an unused balance: check whether your payment still falls inside your card scheme's dispute window. Keep the receipts and any support thread. Once a provider stops answering, that is usually the only route left.
On picking the next one: the lesson of a page like this is not "choose a big provider", it is "do not prepay more than you would mind losing, and do not accept a balance that expires". We sell residential from $0.44 per GB with a balance that does not expire and no subscription, which is the shape that fails least badly when a provider does. Test it and anything else you shortlist on your own target before you move volume.
