Talkie is the companion app that briefly out-downloaded Character.AI in the United States: built by the Chinese AI company MiniMax, operated of record by SUBSUP Pte Ltd in Singapore, on the web at talkie-ai.com and in iOS and Android apps, and ranked by Sensor Tower as the fourth most downloaded app in the US in the first half of 2024. In December 2024 it vanished from Apple's US App Store, which is the event behind most searches for a Talkie proxy, and it has come and gone from the stores since under the name Talkie Lab.

This page sorts the Talkie questions into the ones an address answers and the ones it does not. The store is not one of them. The web app is the answer to the store question, and we checked that it loads from everywhere we tried. Region eligibility is undocumented and the terms name proxies, which puts it outside what we sell. What is left is the ordinary case of a filtered network, and we cover that properly.

The removal, and what came back

The South China Morning Post reported on 20 December 2024 that Talkie had been removed from Apple's US App Store due to unspecified technical reasons, that MiniMax said it would get it fixed soon, and that the app remained accessible on Google Play. The listing that exists today on the US App Store is Talkie Lab, from SUBSUP Pte Ltd, rated 18+, with in-app purchases including a monthly plan and a Talkie+ Pro plan. Third-party reporting describes a further removal from Google Play between April and May 2026 and a return by August 2026, and describes region as the most common trigger users report for eligibility denials; none of that is documented by Talkie itself, so treat it as reports.

None of it is an address problem. Which store you see, and what it lists, follows the country of your Apple or Google account. A proxy changes the network path and leaves the account where it is. If the app is missing from your store, the fix is the one MiniMax built for exactly this: the web app.

The web app loads from everywhere we tried

talkie-ai.com is a full web version of the service, and it is the practical route around any store gap. On 24 August 2026 we sent 50 fresh proxies from our free proxy list to it. The site served its ordinary page to all 21 exits that reached it, no Cloudflare challenge, no block, and the responses carried no Cloudflare headers at all. Talkie's edge is among the most permissive we measured; compare Character.AI, which refused half of the same kind of exits in our earlier run, or Poe, which challenged a third.

Reaching the page is not the same as an account being eligible, and we cannot tell you what Talkie checks at sign-in, because Talkie does not say. What we can say is that the wall people meet on Talkie is not at the network edge.

What the terms say about proxies

Talkie's terms of service, updated 23 April 2025, prohibit modifying, copying, framing, scraping, renting, selling or making derivative works from the service and its content, and prohibit data-gathering and extraction methods. The clause that matters here reads, in substance, that if you are blocked by Talkie from accessing the services, including by blocking your IP address, you agree not to implement any measures to circumvent such blocking, with masking your IP address or using a proxy IP address as the examples given. The privacy policy, updated 12 September 2025, says the services are not intended for anyone under 14 or under the minimum age local law requires.

That clause is why we will not sell a proxy for an eligibility denial. If Talkie has decided that a region or an account is out, an address bought to appear from elsewhere is the measure the contract names. We describe the mechanism because people ask; we do not take the order.

The case that fits

An account in good standing, in a country where Talkie is offered, on a network that filters the app or the site: that is a reachability problem, and a proxy solves it. For the web app, the address is set in the browser or system-wide (Chrome, Windows); for the phone app, in the Wi-Fi network's settings (Android, iPhone), where it applies to that network alone and not to mobile data. The address should be static, yours alone, and kept from sign-in to sign-out, because a companion account with a history in it should not look like it moves between countries. The proxy checker confirms the exit's country before the first login. Free proxies are a check of whether the site loads and nothing more, for the reasons in are free proxies safe.

Where HProxy fits

For that case, a fixed ISP address, $2.70/IP a month and used by nobody else, or a residential session in a country where Talkie is offered, from $0.44/GB, charged on use with no KYC, is the small purchase that fits. For the store, use the web app; for a region denial, read the terms; for anything to do with age, no. Those are the honest answers, and they are shorter than most proxy pages because most of what people want from a Talkie proxy is not something an address can give.

Frequently asked questions

Why did Talkie disappear from the App Store?
In December 2024 the South China Morning Post reported that Talkie, the companion app developed by the Chinese start-up MiniMax, had been removed from Apple's US App Store for unspecified technical reasons, while it remained available on Google Play; MiniMax said it would get it fixed. At the time Sensor Tower ranked it the fourth most downloaded app in the United States in the first half of 2024, ahead of Character.AI. The app is listed today as Talkie Lab, from the Singapore company SUBSUP Pte Ltd, rated 18+.
Can a proxy get Talkie into my App Store?
No. Which App Store or Play Store you see is tied to the country on your Apple or Google account, not to your IP address, so an address changes nothing about what the store lists. If the app is missing from your store, the web app at talkie-ai.com is the route, and it loaded from every free exit we sent to it on 24 August 2026.
Talkie says I am not eligible in my region. Will a proxy fix that?
We do not know, because Talkie does not document it. Users report eligibility denials tied to region, but Talkie publishes no country list and no statement of what it checks. What its terms do say is that if Talkie blocks you, including by blocking your IP address, you agree not to circumvent that block by masking your IP address or using a proxy IP address. An undocumented denial plus a contract that names proxies is not a case we sell into.
Does Talkie use Cloudflare?
Not that we could see. talkie-ai.com answered without Cloudflare's headers, and in our test on 24 August 2026 it served its ordinary page to all 21 free exits that reached it, no block and no challenge. Reputation is not the wall; the walls on Talkie are the store, the account and the terms.
What proxy type fits Talkie AI?
For the one legitimate case, a network that filters talkie-ai.com or the app's servers, a single static residential or ISP address, in a country where Talkie is offered, kept for the session. On a phone the proxy applies through the Wi-Fi network's settings only; the web app follows the browser. Free lists and rotating pools are the wrong tools for a logged-in companion account.
Is Talkie for adults only?
Its privacy policy says the services are not intended for individuals under the age of 14 or under the applicable minimum age required by local law, and the iOS listing is rated 18+. A proxy does not change an account's age, and we do not help anyone around an age rule.
