SpicyChat is an adult character-chat platform that runs in the browser. Since 2025 it asks users in some regions to verify their age, and it decides who by IP address. That rule is why people search for a SpicyChat proxy. This page covers the rule in the words of SpicyChat, where the official apps are, how each way in takes a proxy, and what a proxy changes.
The age rule, in the words of SpicyChat
SpicyChat gives its reason plainly: "To comply with new age-related regulations in several regions, we must confirm that users meet the legal minimum age to access NSFW content." It uses your "current connection location (IP address)" "to determine if age assurance is mandatory".
The regions on its list are France, the UK, Italy and Australia, plus 26 US states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY and WV. Without verification you can still use the platform, but "NSFW content will no longer be accessible".
The check itself runs through outside partners. "The check is handled by trusted third-party verification partners who specialize in secure, privacy-focused age checks." SpicyChat adds: "We never see, receive, or store any images, documents, or personal details used during verification." And it holds: "In most cases, verification will only need to be performed once for your account, regardless of the device or location where you are connecting from." Some jurisdictions may ask for it more often.
That settles the proxy question. The check exists because the law in those regions requires it, and we give no steps around it. For an adult, it usually happens once, and the account then carries it everywhere. A proxy would only add something to keep running. For anyone under the legal age, no version of this page helps.
Our own server sits in Missouri, one of the listed states. spicychat.ai loaded for it like any other page, and an account there would be asked to verify before NSFW content.
The apps

SpicyChat dated its iOS notice 27 August 2025: "The SpicyChat iOS app has been removed from the App Store. Apple determined that the app does not comply with their guidelines." For a copy installed before the removal, SpicyChat says "that version is no longer updated and offers a degraded experience". SpicyChat recommends the web version on the home screen instead. The App Store search for SpicyChat returns an app named Spicy Chat AI, and it comes from another developer.
On Android, the official app is not on Google Play. SpicyChat says: "While it is not available on the Google Play Store, the APK provided on our site is the official SpicyChat app".
Search results also show sites with lookalike names. One of them says it "offers a dedicated app for Android and iOS", which the official SpicyChat does not have. Check the address before you sign in anywhere.
How SpicyChat takes a proxy

In a browser, Chrome uses the proxy of the system it runs on. The Chromium documentation adds two limits: "No authentication methods are supported for SOCKSv5 in Chrome", and "Proxy authentication will instead go through the ordinary flow to find credentials". In Chrome, then, use an HTTP line and type its user name and password when Chrome asks. Our Chrome guide shows where the settings live.
On an iPhone, the web app follows the Wi-Fi proxy, as Safari does, and an iPhone takes a server, a port and an optional user name and password. Our iPhone guide walks through the screen.
On Android, the Wi-Fi proxy takes a host and a port with no password. Apps that use neither of its two built-in HTTP stacks "will need to obtain the proxy info" themselves, so an APK may or may not follow it. We did not install the SpicyChat APK, so we cannot say which. Our Android guide shows the settings.
The http form of our lines fits all three. Where there is nowhere to type a password, as on Android, a Residential Premium plan lets up to 150 addresses connect without one.
What a proxy does not change
The generation queue is a plan feature. In the top SpicyChat tier, "Whenever you start a chat, or receive a response, you will be placed at the front of the generation queue." Context memory grows with the tier too, up to 32K at the top. All of that follows the account, and an address is not an input to any of it.
Where a proxy fits
A proxy fits when you choose to route your own traffic through one. That covers privacy on public Wi-Fi, a company that sends its devices through its own proxy, and the same exit every day for your own account. Our residential lines start at $0.44 per GB, and Premium, with city and ISP targeting and password-free access for allowed addresses, starts at $1.00 per GB. The free proxy checker shows which country an address reports before you rely on it. Free proxies are the wrong tool for a logged-in account, for the reasons in are free proxies safe.

What this page does not cover
We did not install the SpicyChat APK, under our rule against running third-party software on our workstation, so we did not see whether it follows a phone proxy. We used no account, so we did not see the age check from inside. SpicyChat changes its region list and its tiers without dates on the pages. We will check again by 28 December 2026.
