A datacenter address with a poor reputation is scored down here before the store logic ever runs, which is the general reason residential wins on a defended retailer even when the homepage returns a small shell.
Queue-it is the drop layer. Pokemon Center added a virtual waiting room to slow instant sellouts and bots on hyped restocks: visitors are placed in the room in arrival order, each gets a position, and when a slot opens there is a short window, often five to ten minutes, to complete checkout before being returned to the back (Queue-it, how it works). For monitoring, exit from US residential addresses behind a real browser, keep the incap_ses and visid_incap cookies so Imperva sees a coherent returning visitor, and pace like a collector. What a proxy does not do here
A proxy gives you a trusted address, holds one identity through the queue, and keeps tasks apart. It does not move you up the Queue-it line, does not raise a per-item purchase limit, does not solve a DataDome or hCaptcha challenge on its own, and does not make a restock appear. Buying limited stock through automation and multi-accounting both run against Pokemon Center's terms, a risk that stays with you regardless of the IPs.
