Proxies for IndiaMART: the terms, the Leads API and why there is no Excel export

IndiaMART's terms ban systematic retrieval by robots or spiders without permission. Paid sellers can send their own leads to a CRM through its Leads API.

Free proxies won't hold up here.

Shared datacenter IPs get flagged and dropped fast. When it has to hold, gaming, streaming, accounts, you need mobile and residential IPs that read as a real device, from $0.44/GB, pay as you go.

Searches for an IndiaMART data extractor point two ways: a seller's own leads, and supplier details in bulk. For the first, IndiaMART sells an add-on, the IndiaMART LMS Leads API, which sends a paid seller's leads to a CRM. For the second, its terms prohibit gathering its content in bulk, by robots or by hand, without written permission. A proxy does not change either.

What IndiaMART's terms say

The terms of use were last updated on 20 February 2026. They call the company IIL, for IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd., and its listings and other material "IIL Content".

rulewhat the terms say
copyingNo copying of IIL Content to resell or pass on, for "mass mailing", for a rival business or for other commercial use, "unless otherwise agreed between the parties".
systematic retrieval"Systematic retrieval of IIL Content to create or compile, directly or indirectly, a collection, compilation, database or directory (whether through robots, spiders, automatic devices or manual processes) without written permission from IIL is prohibited."
loadFor users of its CRM services, no activity that could overload or harm its servers, networks or systems.

What robots.txt says

The site's robots.txt keeps every crawler it does not name out of /enquiry.html, search pages, /stats/ and several company page variants. It shuts 48 named crawlers out of the whole site, among them Scrapy, HTTrack and AhrefsBot. The robots.txt standard, RFC 9309, says its rules "are not a form of access authorization", so the terms still decide.

The IndiaMART LMS Leads API

The company sells the IndiaMART LMS Leads API to paid sellers who manage their leads in another CRM. It is an add-on that "cannot be purchased or used as a standalone offering". It comes in two forms:

Pull APIPush API
how it worksyour software asks for leads at set times.IndiaMART sends each lead to your webhook as it arrives.
historyup to 365 days, at most 7 days per request.leads as they arrive.
limitsone call every 5 minutes. More than 5 in a minute blocks the key for 15 minutes.the webhook address should start with https://.

The company advises a call every 10 to 15 minutes. A Pull API key expires if it is not used for 7 days. The output is JSON, "not in a human-readable format". GST details and trust details, such as ratings, stay in Lead Manager and are not in the API.

Lead Manager itself has no Excel export. The help centre says there is "no provision for exporting/downloading enquiries data in a spreadsheet/MS Excel". For Zoho CRM there is an official plugin, and two open source add-ons for the ERPNext business software use the same API. One pulls leads every 20 minutes. The other pulls every 5 minutes and drops duplicates by their query ID.

The scrapers on GitHub

A search of GitHub for "indiamart scraper" lists 56 projects. The most starred one takes supplier details, such as company name, address, city and phone number. One reads phone numbers from a page robots.txt closes to every crawler it does not name, and its README warns that the site "rate-limits aggressive bots". Another is sold per supplier returned, on a scraping platform. None of them mentions the terms.

Where a proxy fits

For IndiaMART, a proxy does not fit. The terms prohibit systematic retrieval without written permission, whatever address it comes from. The Leads API works with the seller's own key, and its limits apply to that key.

For other work where a proxy is allowed, what a residential proxy is explains the type. How to check if a proxy is working shows how to test one. Residential traffic without city targeting starts at $0.44/GB, and every plan is on our pricing page.

The limits of this page

We read IndiaMART's terms, robots.txt and six help articles from our server in St. Louis on 4 October 2026. We did not sign in, generate a key or call the API, and we did not check what the add-on costs. This page is due for a check by 4 January 2027.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an IndiaMART API?
Yes, for paid sellers. The IndiaMART LMS Leads API is a paid add-on that sends a seller's own leads to a CRM, through a Pull API or a real-time Push API. It cannot be bought on its own.
Can I export IndiaMART leads to Excel?
Not from Lead Manager. IndiaMART's help says there is no provision for exporting enquiries to a spreadsheet. Paid sellers can send their leads to a CRM through the Leads API instead.
Can I scrape IndiaMART?
Not without its written permission. IndiaMART's terms prohibit systematic retrieval of its content to build a collection or database, whether through robots, spiders, automatic devices or manual processes.
How often can I call the IndiaMART Pull API?
Once every 5 minutes at most. More than 5 calls in a minute blocks the key for 15 minutes, and IndiaMART advises a call every 10 to 15 minutes.
Do I need a proxy for IndiaMART?
No. The Leads API works with your own key, and the terms prohibit systematic retrieval by any means without written permission.
