Most people who reach this page are in India and search for a BGMI proxy server, often as an APK. This page answers from the Krafton terms for Battlegrounds Mobile India, its rules of conduct, its monthly anti-cheat reports and the game's store listings. The short answer: the terms bar "IP proxying" to disguise where you play. Unauthorized apps and modified game files can lead to a permanent ban, and the official game is on Google Play and the App Store, where we found it listed for India.
We read the terms, the rules of conduct, the official site's news pages and both store listings on October 13, 2026, as text from our server. We also read six pages by VPN sellers and review sites that write about BGMI. Every rule below comes from Krafton's own pages, with the version date we read.
What people search around BGMI
Keyword Planner puts "bgmi proxy server" at 260 searches a month worldwide on October 13, 2026, and "proxy server bgmi" at 110. "bgmi proxy server apk" draws 70, up 100% on the three months before. The game itself draws far more: "bgmi download" has 40,500 searches a month and "bgmi apk" 6,600, while the currency search bgmi uc draws 12,100. In Search Console, the three queries that bring this page its visitors all ask for a proxy, and every impression Search Console assigns to a country came from India. The table pairs each search with the Krafton rule or page that answers it.

What the terms say about proxies
The BGMI terms of service carry a version dated June 30, 2023. Among the prohibited uses, item (ab) is about proxies by name. You may not "use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the location of your use or Device". The item goes on: "whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on the use of the Game, the Documentation or Services or for any other purpose".
The same list covers the tools around it. You may not use the game "in connection with unauthorized software, applications, services, or Devices". You may not circumvent "any security protections or any technical measures that control access to the Game". And you may not use programs "that intercept communications in the Game between a game and a game server".
Item (aa) covers accounts. Nobody may "use someone else’s Account (or any other platform account) to access the Game, the Documentation or Services". The terms tie all of this to the rules of conduct as well. "Violation of the Rules of Conduct", they say, "can result in termination of the License granted to you, your Account, or access to the Game, the Documentation or Services".
Where BGMI is listed
The official BGMI site links the game on Google Play and on the App Store. On October 13, 2026, we asked both stores from our server, one country at a time. The App Store answered with the BGMI listing for India and with an error page for the United States, the United Kingdom and the UAE. Google Play showed the listing for every country we set, and its install button appeared only with India as the country. We tried India, the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE and Bangladesh.
The game has a history in India. India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology blocked 118 apps on September 2, 2020, using section 69A of the Information Technology Act. Two of them were "PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik" and "PUBG MOBILE LITE". Krafton now publishes BGMI with its own terms, and in August 2026 it opened pre-registration on Google Play for BGMI LITE, a lighter version that "is planned to launch later this year". Proxy server apps and modified clients
The rules of conduct, in a version dated February 19, 2024, forbid changes to the game client, servers or data. In their words, "Unauthorized changes to the Game client (“ini” file modification, etc.), servers, or data (such as packets)" interfere with the service. Their penalty table sets the maximum penalty for each case.

The full table has 23 rows. We counted 18 with a permanent ban at most, 2 with 90 days, 2 with 30 days and 1 with 3 days. The rules add that Krafton may stop the game running on a specific device where misconduct was found.
Modified game files get their own line in the reports. Krafton's report on July 2026 says a first detection of PAK file tampering "previously resulted in a warning" and "now results in a temporary account suspension". On September 21, 2026, it "applied 10-year account suspensions to approximately 60,000 accounts". Those accounts showed unauthorized PAK file modifications and cheating through virtual machines.

Krafton publishes a monthly anti-cheat report on the BGMI site. The two latest reports give these counts.

Krafton, BGMI anti-cheat reports of August 31 and September 23, 2026, read October 13, 2026
The site's news list keeps reports back to July 2025, and their headline counts make a series. The wording changes from report to report. July 2025 counts accounts "violating our game policies", and September 2025 and March 2026 give "Total Accounts Banned". July 2026 gives "Cheating-related penalties" and August 2026 "Cheating-related accounts penalized". The chart shows the numbers as each report gives them.
The reports also name what they catch: auto-aim, wallhacks, modified game data and cheat software. In the March 2026 report, "Others (Game data mods, cheat software)" make up 78.23% of the cheats detected, and auto-aim hacks 16.63%. Ace-tier players made up the largest share of bans in several reports, 29.3% in March 2026.
Your account
The September report reminds players that "sharing your account credentials or account access with another person is prohibited under the BGMI Rules of Conduct". It adds that Krafton "may be unable to assist with losses or account issues resulting from account sharing". It recommends linking at least two login methods and keeping all login information private. The report of July 2025 explains why. Players had their accounts banned "after being compromised by hackers", it says, and "Account sharing greatly increases the risk of theft or misuse, which can lead to sanctions that cannot be reversed".
The terms bar using the account of someone else to reach the game, and the rules list a permanent ban for trading or selling accounts. This page shows no way to run or share accounts.
What VPN sellers' pages say
We read six pages on BGMI by Windscribe, iTop VPN, Cashify, Private Proxy Guide, PureVPN and ExpressVPN on October 13, 2026. Five of them sell a way to play from outside India or past a ban. iTop VPN writes that the game is limited by geography, so "only Indian players can play it directly", and offers to help players "bypass restrictions and play BGMI in any region outside India". PureVPN says BGMI "is officially limited to players in India" and offers players abroad an Indian IP address.
Two pages say a VPN is allowed. PureVPN's FAQ answers "Using a VPN with BGMI is not officially banned, but it can raise account risks if abused for exploits". ExpressVPN writes that a VPN "isn’t prohibited under the Terms of Service for Battlegrounds Mobile India". Item (ab) of the terms bars "IP proxying or other methods to disguise the location of your use or Device". We quote both sides and leave the reading to you.
Windscribe sells India servers and quotes item (ab) on the same page. Asked whether players can use a VPN, its FAQ says "it’s against the game’s ToS" to look like you are in India from somewhere else. Private Proxy Guide adds a safety note: "You must still follow BGMI's Terms of Service and local laws". Cashify's list, dated March 2026 in its title, still opens with "Recently, the Indian government banned BGMI from the Play Store". On October 13, 2026, Google Play listed the game for India. All six pages say a VPN can cut lag or ping, and none prints a ping figure measured through its own service.

What we could not find out
- Whether Krafton has penalized anyone for playing through a proxy or a VPN. The reports count cheating, modified files and match crashing, and none of them mentions VPNs or proxies.
- Where BGMI's servers are and how a VPN changes the route to them. We did not install the game, test a proxy or a VPN in it, or open any proxy server APK.
- What happened to BGMI between 2020 and today. We read no official source on its removal from the stores in 2022 or its return in 2023, so this page leaves them out.
- Whether the store listings look the same from other countries than the five we tried.
- The full breakdown by cheat type for each month. Several reports send readers to Discord for it, which we did not read.
