Comparison

Mitmproxy alternatives on price, pool and commitment

Looking past Mitmproxy? Match the units, find the expiry clause, then measure success rate on your own target. This page covers all three.

Free proxies won't hold up here.

Shared datacenter IPs get flagged and dropped fast. When it has to hold, gaming, streaming, accounts, you need mobile and residential IPs that read as a real device, from $0.44/GB, pay as you go.

Residential proxies

Switching proxy providers is cheap to try and expensive to get wrong. The cheap part is a small paid test on your own target. The expensive part is choosing on a homepage. This page is about doing the first thing before the second.

Everything we can stand behind

Mitmproxy trades at mitmproxy.org.

We price the providers we can source and date, and Mitmproxy is not currently one of them. The rest of this page is about what to check when you read their pricing yourself.

Take down four numbers and a date: reachable rate, minimum purchase, commitment for the floor rate, and expiry period. Anything less and you cannot compare them to anyone.

Mitmproxy in its own words

Their homepage title, read on 9 September 2026: "mitmproxy - an interactive HTTPS proxy".

Taken from the same page, on the same day:

We found no separate pricing page linked from the homepage, which usually means the price arrives by quotation.

All of the above is their copy, not our finding. A dated quotation is the weakest kind of evidence that is still evidence.

Age, and why it matters here

The domain was registered on 10 February 2010, through Cloudflare, Inc, which makes it about 16 years old. Checked against the registry on 9 September 2026. The registration currently runs to 10 February 2027.

This proves nothing about the product. It is a cheap check against the one failure mode that costs buyers real money in this market, which is paying a provider that will not exist in six months.

What the search data says about Mitmproxy

Search volume around the name runs to 110 a month, split as 110 a month for an alternative to them. Figures read from Google Keyword Planner on 9 September 2026.

The biggest slice is people looking for a way out, so the useful thing to hand a reader is evidence rather than an opinion.

What you still do not know after reading their site

Why the pool number is the least useful figure

Nobody audits pool totals in this market, and the counting rules differ between vendors. Even an accurate figure describes addresses that exist, not addresses you will be routed through. Treat it as a marketing unit rather than a capability.

What the starting rate leaves out

Rates in this market are quoted from the bottom of the table. The relevant question is which row you land on at your volume, and whether reaching a cheaper row costs more in commitment than it saves per unit.

A commitment is part of the price

A commitment converts a variable cost into a fixed one. That is a good trade at steady volume and a poor one otherwise, and the decision belongs to you rather than to whichever tier looks cheapest per unit.

The two of us, on the questions that matter

Six questions, both answers, and an honest blank where we do not hold a current figure:

Six rows is enough. Longer comparison tables in this market are usually padded with features nobody chooses on, which makes them look thorough and read as noise.

The measurement that outranks every review

This costs less than a coffee and produces the only evidence that applies to your workload.

  1. Fund both accounts with the least money each will accept, and note what that minimum was, because it is part of the comparison.
  2. Aim both at the page that matters to you rather than a test endpoint, and keep every other variable fixed.
  3. Write down two numbers per provider: the share of requests that succeeded, and the traffic it cost.
  4. Take a handful of the addresses you were given and verify their country and type against a checker you do not control.
  5. Go with whichever performed, then measure again next quarter. Networks change underneath you.

Comparable providers

We hold the same record for these, and the same honest limits apply to each:

Our own position

Residential starts at $0.44 per GB, the balance never expires, there is no minimum commitment and no sales call, and city and ISP targeting are included. We publish our free side openly, 129,131,311 verification checks and counting, because a network that is confident has no reason to fear measurement.

Frequently asked questions

What does Mitmproxy advertise?
We do not hold a current, sourced price for Mitmproxy, so this page does not print one. Read their own pricing page for the rate, the minimum and the commitment, and note the date you read it, because all three move.
How is HProxy different?
The models differ more than the products do. HProxy is pay as you go from a balance you top up when you want, the balance does not expire, there is no subscription unless the optional discount suits you, and residential starts at $0.44 per GB with city and ISP targeting included. Whether that beats a tiered plan depends on your usage pattern, which a short test settles.
Do I have to talk to sales or sign a contract to switch?
Not with us. You can sign up, add funds and send traffic without a call, a minimum or a subscription. Whether another provider requires any of those is on their own pricing page and is worth reading, because a required commitment is part of the price even when it is not part of the rate.
How often should I re-test a provider?
Quarterly is a reasonable rhythm for most workloads, and immediately after a noticeable drop in success rate. Pools are rebuilt, suppliers change and detection improves, so a benchmark from last year describes a network that no longer exists.
Does a bigger pool mean better results?
No. Your job meets only the exits it draws, in the countries it needs, against one target's defences. Freshness and rotation policy move the outcome far more than the headline total, and pool totals across this market are counted generously and rarely audited.

Proxies that don't die mid-job

Residential, ISP, datacenter and mobile, verified by the same engine that runs tens of millions of checks. They read as a real device and hold up under load. Pay as you go, and your balance never expires. $0.44/GB is the 2,000 GB+ rate; a single gigabyte is $0.50/GB, with no minimum order.
