The Flipkart product page we read showed no price history. The trackers that rank are outside tools. They say they check prices several times a day and keep up to a year of history. They send an alert when a price falls. To build your own, Flipkart's Affiliate API gives each product's MRP and prices. Flipkart's terms forbid robots and spiders that monitor the site.
Does Flipkart show price history?
Not on the page we fetched. Our server asked Flipkart for a product page on 4 October 2026, and it answered normally. The page carried the price, ₹1,099 against an MRP of ₹4,999, and a wishlist button. It had no price history and no price drop alert. We read the page as it came, without running its scripts. The Flipkart app's Play Store listing names no price alert either.
Flipkart's own API documentation defines three prices. The MRP is "the Maximum Retail Price of the product". The selling price is "the actual price (after Discount)". A special price is the price "after applying extra offers if any". The product page marked its ₹1,099 as a special price. A tracker shows how the price moved over time, which a discount badge against the MRP cannot.
How Flipkart price trackers work
Price trackers for Flipkart are websites, apps and browser extensions. You paste a product link, and the tracker shows a chart of past prices. You set a target price, and it sends an alert when Flipkart's price falls to it. The trackers that rank describe themselves like this:
| question | what the trackers say |
|---|---|
| how often they check | prices recorded "multiple times a day"; another checks every 4 to 8 hours, "depending on the product's deal status" |
| how far back | "a full year of price history"; "up to 1 year" |
| how alerts arrive | "push notification, email, or Telegram"; Telegram alerts "in minutes" |
| where prices come from | one says its data comes "from Flipkart's official API" and is "not scraped" |
None of the tracker pages we read says what Flipkart's terms say about robots that monitor the site.
The route Flipkart documents for affiliates
Flipkart's affiliate program offers "APIs, for listing Flipkart deals / products on your own site / app". Its product feeds list the products of a category, 500 at a time. Its delta feeds return only the products "that have changed after a specific version". The current feeds, under /1.0/, carry these fields for each product:
| field | what Flipkart's documentation says |
|---|---|
| maximumRetailPrice | "the Maximum Retail Price of the product" |
| flipkartSellingPrice | "the actual price (after Discount) at which Flipkart is selling the product" |
| flipkartSpecialPrice | "the price at which Flipkart is selling the product after applying extra offers if any" |
| inStock | "false" means the product is not in stock, "true" means it is |
| productUrl | the product page: "Your affiliate tracking id will be automatically appended to the product url" |
The older feed, which the documentation says "will be deprecated soon", called the first two fields mrp and price.
Every call needs two headers, Fk-Affiliate-Id and Fk-Affiliate-Token. Without them, the API answered our server with HTTP 401 and "Invalid Headers" on 4 October 2026. The keys come with the affiliate program. It takes applicants who are 18 or over, and Flipkart says it will "evaluate your application in good faith".
The program's terms, last updated on 18 October 2024, add a rule for prices. An affiliate site "may only show prices when we serve the link in which those prices are displayed". They also make Flipkart's Terms of Use part of the agreement. Read both before you build a price history on the feeds.
What Flipkart's terms and robots.txt say
Flipkart's Terms of Use say: "You shall not use any 'deep-link', 'page-scrape', 'robot', 'spider' or other automatic device, program, algorithm or methodology, or any similar or equivalent manual process, to access, acquire, copy or monitor any portion of the Platform or any Content". The clause names monitoring by automatic programs. The terms print no date, and Flipkart says it may revise them "without prior notice".
Flipkart's robots.txt closes search pages, seller lists, offer details and reviews to every crawler it does not name. It does not close product pages. The robots.txt standard, RFC 9309, says its rules "are not a form of access authorization", so the terms still decide.
Where a proxy fits
For a Flipkart price tracker, a proxy does not fit. The terms forbid robots that monitor the site, whatever address they come from. The Affiliate API runs on your affiliate keys.
For other work where a proxy is allowed, our Flipkart page covers what Flipkart did to our server and the API's product search. What a residential proxy is explains the type. Residential traffic without city targeting starts at $0.44/GB, and every plan is on our pricing page.
The limits of this page
We read Flipkart's terms, the Affiliate API reference, the affiliate program's terms and the tracker pages from our server in St. Louis on 4 October 2026. We fetched one product page as plain HTML without running its scripts. Flipkart's help centre is a script app whose text we could not read. We did not install the app, so we cannot rule out an alert inside it. We did not join the affiliate program or call the API with keys. What the trackers say about themselves is their own claim. This page is due for a check by 4 January 2027.
