The useful thing to know about Proxy1 is not why it ended, which nobody outside the company can honestly tell you, but when it stopped and what you should do about the money or the traffic you had with it.
The date it stopped
On 9 September 2026 the name resolved to nothing usable (ENOTFOUND). Three attempts, two protocols, no response.
The archive stops returning a real page after November 2017, having kept 4 of them. Crawls continued; the site did not.
The site, in its own words
As of its last working snapshot in November 2017, the title read "Free proxy and anonymous web surfing". The banner line read "Free anonymous web surfing". The description it gave search engines said: "Feel free to browse the internet fast and anonymously with USA IP web proxy to unblock websites like Facebook, Twitter and more!"
A third party kept that, which is why it is quotable. It records what was being claimed, and says nothing about whether the claims held up.
What it looked like while it traded
The archive first captured a working page in August 2017.
None of it is a verdict on quality. It is the shape of a business that existed, which is worth establishing before anything else, because this market also contains names that never traded at all.
The honest limit here: we can show you the ending and not the reason for it. Anyone publishing a confident explanation of a small provider's shutdown is usually repeating a forum rumour, and we would rather leave the gap visible.
