When the lights went out

We tried three routes to it on 9 September 2026 and all three failed (ENOTFOUND). Nothing is listening.

35 working snapshots exist, ending October 2020. Nothing usable was archived after that month.

What the last capture shows

Archived October 2020, the page called itself "DosTunnel.com: Free web-based anonymous proxy service!". Above the fold it said "DosTunnel.com". Its search snippet read: "DosTunnel.com is a free web-based anonymous proxy service, which allows anyone to surf the web with privacy and security. There is no software to install, and it is completely free! By using 24PROXY, you can surf websites but hackers or website owners cannot identify or track you. The service hides your IP address, and"

Read it as the pitch rather than the product. Its value is that the Internet Archive holds it independently of us and of them, so anyone can check the quotation.

The archive first captured a working page in July 2013.

The public record holds that much. It shows a company that was real and shipping, and nothing about how well.
