You can settle this yourself for less than the price of lunch. That is the argument of this page, and the sections before the test exist to tell you what to measure once you start.
The record we hold
The company behind the name sits at sslproxies.org. We carry them as a free proxy list.
A price is missing here on purpose. We have not captured a sourced rate for SSLProxies recently enough to publish one, and a stale number in this market is a wrong number.
Their pricing page will answer three of the four questions that matter. Send an email for the fourth, which is usually whether blocked requests are billed, and keep the reply.
What SSLProxies says about itself today
Read 9 September 2026, the homepage titles itself "SSL Proxy List, HTTPS Proxy List - Free Proxy List". Written for search engines, their description says: "Here are some HTTPS / SSL proxies that are just checked and added into our proxy list. The proxy list is updated every 10 minutes to keep fresh."
The rest of what the page puts in writing:
The product lines named on that page are residential and SOCKS5. They advertise 34 countries or locations. Payment methods mentioned: PayPal, crypto, Alipay and cards. The page offers some form of free trial. A refund or money-back term is mentioned. Their pricing page is titled "Buy HTTP 6500 Proxy List (1 month), Didsoft".
Nothing there has been tested. It is a record of what the page said on the day, which is the honest limit of what a page like this can offer without a measurement.
What the registration record shows
The domain was registered on 17 February 2013, through Cloudflare, Inc, which makes it about 13 years old. Registry data as of 23 April 2026. It is paid up until 17 February 2027.
Age is not quality. A long registration does not make a network good, and a new one does not make it bad. What it does rule out is the shortest-lived pattern in this market, which is a site that appears, sells, and is gone inside a year.
Whose list this is
We checked this one by hand on 6 September 2026. It is a list, and we record the operator as independent. It has been folded into another list rather than shut down, so the name survives as a redirect. Evidence recorded: 200 after redirect to free-proxy-list.net/ssl-proxy.html. Part of the free-proxy-list.net family.
It appears to be independently operated. That is the better case for neutrality, and it says nothing about whether the addresses work.
The Internet Archive has it from 11 June 2013 to 20 January 2025, about 13 years of coverage. The domain was registered 17 February 2013 through Cloudflare, Inc.
The number that matters, and that no list page prints, is how many entries still work. Ours is public: 589918 addresses discovered, 4023 alive at the last check, median lifespan 145 hours. Apply that decay to any undated list you are reading.
Where published figures stop being useful
What passes through, and what is kept
A service with no stated retention period has one anyway, and it is whatever their hosting provider does by default. Absence of a policy is a policy, and usually not the one you would choose.
Networks age, so re-test quarterly
Every review of this market, this one included, is a photograph of a moving thing. Read the date on any comparison you find, and discount it heavily once it is more than a few months old.
A pool total is not a promise
Nobody audits pool totals in this market, and the counting rules differ between vendors. Even an accurate figure describes addresses that exist, not addresses you will be routed through. Treat it as a marketing unit rather than a capability.

Two notes on that table. The rows we left for you to check are not evasions: those terms change, and printing a stale figure is exactly the failure this page is trying to avoid. And no table can hold the number that should decide your purchase, which is the success rate on your own target.
The ten minute version of this decision
For a few dollars you can get a verdict specific to your job, which no comparison page can honestly promise you.
- Start with the smallest purchase each vendor allows, so the test costs less than the decision it replaces.
- Use your own scraper and your own target. A benchmark against a neutral site measures nothing you will experience.
- Measure what came back correctly and what it consumed, then divide the spend by the successes.
- Push a sample of exit addresses through an independent checker and confirm the country and connection type are what was advertised.
- Keep whichever pool won on your job. Re-run this whenever success rate drops or the bill moves.
