Proxies for Midjourney: Discord Blocks, the Web App, One Account per User, and What an IP Cannot Buy

Proxies for Midjourney: Discord is the blocked part, the web app is the way around it. Which proxy type fits, and what no IP buys: a free trial, extra accounts, or automation.

Free proxies won't hold up here.

Shared datacenter IPs get flagged and dropped fast. When it has to hold, gaming, streaming, accounts, you need mobile and residential IPs that read as a real device, from $0.44/GB, pay as you go.

Midjourney is the image generator that lived inside Discord for its first two years: you joined its server or messaged its bot, typed a prompt, and the images came back in the chat. Since August 2024 it also runs a full web app at midjourney.com, with the editor, the gallery and, since 2025, video generation in one place, and version 8.2 became the default in July 2026. It has never had a public API, it has had no free trial since March 2023, and it is a subscription: Basic, Standard, Pro and Mega plans that differ in fast-generation hours, concurrency and privacy.

People searching for a Midjourney proxy mostly have a Discord problem. Discord is blocked in Russia and Turkey since October 2024 and in mainland China since 2018, and a bot that lives inside Discord goes dark wherever Discord does. That is the one real job on this page, and it has a cheaper answer than a proxy for many people. The other things a proxy gets asked to do here, a free trial, a second account, a way to run a third-party automation tool, are things no address buys, and this page says so up front.

Discord is the wall, not Midjourney

Midjourney publishes no country list, and we found no government that has banned Midjourney itself. What governments have banned is Discord. Russia's regulator blocked it on 8 October 2024 after fining the company over content it had ordered removed; Turkey blocked it the following day over child-safety concerns; mainland China has blocked it since July 2018. In each of those places the Midjourney bot is unreachable because the chat client around it is.

The first way around that is not a proxy. Midjourney's web app at midjourney.com does everything the bot does and more, in a browser, without Discord. If your country blocks Discord and not midjourney.com, the website is the answer, and it costs nothing extra. For people who want the Discord route anyway, because their server, their community or their workflow lives there, a proxy has to carry the whole Discord client, which is a different setup from proxying a browser: our guides on proxies for Discord and the Discord proxy setup cover it, including the voice-and-gateway traffic that a plain HTTP proxy does not.

What no address buys

A free trial. Midjourney's founder announced the end of free trials on 30 March 2023, citing a combination of extraordinary demand and trial abuse, and the company's documentation, updated in December 2025, says no free trial is currently available in Discord or on the midjourney.com website; the only trial it mentions is a limited one in the niji journey mobile app. A proxy does not change a pricing decision.

A second account. The terms of service, effective 27 May 2026, are blunt: each user may only have one account, only one user may use the services per registered account, and access may not be resold or redistributed. The community guidelines repeat it. The guides that promise to share one Midjourney subscription across a team by putting each person behind a different browser profile and proxy are describing a terms violation, and Midjourney reserves the right to suspend or ban access at any time and for any reason. A proxy is an address, not permission.

Automation. Midjourney provides no API, its community guidelines say that automating interactions with the service is strictly prohibited, and the terms bar automated tools for accessing or generating assets. The third-party "Midjourney APIs" sold online drive a Discord account with a script, and the ban that follows names the behaviour, as users have reported the message verbatim: blocked from Midjourney due to accessing the services via automation, scripting, or third-party tools. No IP address changes what the account was doing.

Midjourney: what a proxy moves, and what it never does

A clean IP moves

  • Reaching Discord where it is blocked

Russia, Turkey, China; the whole client, not just a browser

  • Reaching midjourney.com on a filtered network

    office, campus, a restrictive ISP

  • Cloudflare's opinion of your exit

    residential reads as a person

A proxy never touches

  • A free trial

    ended 30 March 2023

  • The one-account rule

one user per account, one account per user

  • The automation ban

no API; scripting the bot gets the account blocked

  • Fast hours and concurrency

    per plan

Fast, Relax and the queue are per plan

Every Midjourney plan comes with a monthly allowance of fast GPU time, a number of jobs that can run at once (three on Basic and Standard, twelve fast or three relaxed on Pro and Mega), and, on Standard and up, unlimited relaxed generation that waits in a queue. All of it is a property of the subscription. A proxy does not shorten a Relax queue and does not add fast hours, for the same reason no address raises an API quota anywhere: the meter is on the account, as we explain in LLM API rate limits and proxies.

Cloudflare and the type of address

Cloudflare sits in front of midjourney.com and scores each connecting address before the site sees the request. midjourney.com was in the free-proxy test we ran on 24 August 2026, 50 proxies from our free proxy list with a Chrome user agent: of the 20 exits that could complete an HTTPS request anywhere, 12 reached the page, 5 were handed a Cloudflare challenge, and 3 timed out. A quarter of the working free exits challenged is a stricter edge than DeepSeek or Civitai, which challenged none, and looser than Character.AI, which blocked half.

A paid, logged-in account should sit on one address from sign-in to sign-out, because the login remembers the address it started on and a mid-session change looks like a stolen session. That is the ISP proxy's job: a static IP that a home provider registered, on hardware that never sleeps. When the exit has to be in a specific country, a static residential session on a real home line does it instead. Rotation is for scraping, and sticky versus rotating sessions explains why it breaks a login. For the Discord route the same address has to carry the Discord client at the operating-system level, which is why the Discord proxy setup is its own guide.

Setting it up

For the web app the address goes into the browser or the operating system, and the tutorials for Chrome, Windows and macOS show each screen; run the proxy checker first so you know which country the exit reports and that your real address stays out of the headers, then sign in and stay put. Keep the exit in the country the account normally uses; an account that suddenly appears from somewhere new draws the security review you were trying to avoid. Generated images and video are downloads, so if you pay per gigabyte, a heavy day of generation is what you pay for, and a per-address ISP plan is usually the cheaper fit.

Where HProxy fits

Image and video downloads add up, which makes the ISP proxy the sensible buy for Midjourney: $2.70/IP a month for one static home-registered address, billed per address rather than per gigabyte, and the same address can carry the Discord client. The residential pool, from $0.44/GB, is metered by traffic and earns its place only when the exit has to be in one particular country. The pricing is usage-based on both, with no subscription and no expiry.

Try the web app before you buy anything, because for a Discord block it is the whole fix. Expect nothing from a proxy on the trial, the account rules or the automation ban. For holding one legitimate account on one stable address in a place that blocks the route to it, that single address does the job.

Frequently asked questions

Is Midjourney blocked in my country?
Midjourney publishes no country list and we found no government ban of Midjourney itself. What is blocked in several countries is Discord, the chat platform the Midjourney bot has always lived in: Russia blocked Discord on 8 October 2024, Turkey the next day, and mainland China has blocked it since 2018. Since August 2024 Midjourney also runs a full web app at midjourney.com, which does not need Discord at all, so the first thing to try in a Discord-blocked country is the website.
What proxy type works for Midjourney?
One static residential or ISP address held for the whole session, in a country where Discord and midjourney.com are reachable. Midjourney is a paid, logged-in account behind Cloudflare, and its terms allow one account per user, so the address should be stable and yours alone. Rotating pools are the wrong tool and read as account theft on a login. Datacenter addresses are the profile Cloudflare challenges first; in our test it challenged a quarter of the working free exits.
Can a proxy get me a Midjourney free trial?
No. Midjourney stopped free trials on 30 March 2023, citing extraordinary demand and trial abuse, and its documentation, updated December 2025, says no free trial is currently available in Discord or on the midjourney.com website. The only trial it mentions is a limited one in the niji journey mobile app. A proxy changes your address, not Midjourney's pricing.
Can I run several Midjourney accounts on different proxies?
The terms forbid it, and we will not help: each user may only have one account, only one user may use the services per account, and access may not be resold or redistributed. An address does not change that, and Midjourney reserves the right to suspend or ban access at any time and for any reason. The legitimate use of a static address is keeping one account stable, not multiplying it.
Will a proxy let me automate Midjourney?
No. Midjourney provides no API and its community guidelines state that automating interactions with the service is strictly prohibited under the terms, which also bar automated tools for accessing or generating assets. Users have reported the resulting ban message verbatim: blocked from Midjourney due to accessing the services via automation, scripting, or third-party tools. A proxy gives you an address; the ban is about behaviour.
Do free proxies work for Midjourney?
For loading the site, sometimes. In our test on 24 August 2026, of 20 free proxies that could open an HTTPS tunnel, 12 reached midjourney.com and 5 were handed a Cloudflare challenge. Free proxies die within minutes, most cannot carry HTTPS at all, and routing a paid, logged-in account through a stranger's machine is a credential risk. They are for a one-off reachability check and nothing more.

Proxies that don't die mid-job

Residential, ISP, datacenter and mobile, verified by the same engine that runs tens of millions of checks. They read as a real device and hold up under load. Pay as you go, and your balance never expires. $0.44/GB is the 2,000 GB+ rate; a single gigabyte is $0.50/GB, with no minimum order.
