HProxy vs Thordata.com: Residential Prices, the 30-Day Rule and the Terms (2026)

On country-level residential work, Thordata charges more per GB than HProxy's Residential Lite at every size. With city or network (ASN) targeting, it depends on volume. Our Residential Premium is cheaper at Thordata's 1, 10 and 50 GB sizes, and Thordata is cheaper from 150 GB up. Thordata's standard orders also run on a 30-day clock, and its residential gateway speaks HTTP and HTTPS only. Thordata's pricing page, docs and refund policy were read on October 22, 2026. We are a residential seller ourselves, and our view comes with that interest.

Thordata.com vs HProxy at a glance

Thordata's residential plan includes state, city and ASN targeting, which makes our Premium pool the like-for-like match. Our Lite pool is the comparison for country-level jobs.

Thordata's side was read through our server from its pricing page, homepage, docs and refund policy. For our side we used the catalog behind our checkout, the product sheet in the dashboard, our terms and our refund policy.

How does Thordata's price ladder compare?

Thordata sells residential traffic in blocks, and the rate falls with the size of the block. We found the same ladder on August 3, on August 10 and again on October 22, 2026.

Every rung shows a struck-through "original" price beside it, such as $2.85 next to $2.00. The chart picks 10 GB and 2,000 GB, two sizes where our own rates are exact for both pools.

How the chart applies to your work:

• Country-level traffic. No Thordata block is as cheap as Lite. Thordata's 1 GB price is four times Lite's, and its 50 GB block costs $75 where Lite would cost $25.
• City or ASN targeting, small volumes. Premium at $1.49/GB costs less than Thordata's 1, 10 and 50 GB blocks.
• City or ASN targeting, large volumes. From its 150 GB block, Thordata costs less than Premium. At 2,000 GB it charges $0.70 against Premium's $1.00/GB.

What does the 30-day rule change?

Thordata's docs say standard plans "are valid for 30 days or until the traffic is used, whichever comes first". Each order runs on its own clock. Unused traffic is not lost: buying any new plan, "even 1 GB", reactivates it with a fresh 30 days. Its 1 TB enterprise plans, 1,000 GB mobile plans and wallet balances never expire.

So a large block bought to reach a low rate has to be used within the month, or carried forward by another purchase. Under our terms a wallet balance never runs out of time, so a quiet month wastes nothing. How much do proxies cost explains how block sizes and validity change the real price.

Targeting, sessions and protocols

• Targeting. Thordata targets country, state, city and ASN. Lite stops at the country. Premium reaches state, city, network (ASN) and device level.
• Sessions. A Thordata sticky session lasts 10 minutes by default, or up to 90 minutes when you set it. Premium lets you hold an exit for as little as 3 minutes or as long as 24 hours.
• Protocols. Thordata's residential gateway speaks HTTP and HTTPS on port 9999. Its docs say SOCKS5 "is not supported on residential and mobile proxies", except for business customers after Enterprise KYC. HTTP and SOCKS5 come with both of our pools.
• UDP. Thordata supports UDP on no product. Premium carries UDP inside SOCKS5 once you enable it on a generated line.

Refunds and ID checks

• Thordata. Its refund policy allows one refund, on the first order, within 7 days. The payment must be in a currency other than crypto, and use must stay under 30% of the package and under 2 GB.
• HProxy. Ask within 14 days and our refund policy returns whatever balance is left to the method you paid with, card or crypto. Traffic that has gone through the network stays paid for.
• ID checks. HProxy asks for no ID at sign-up and no papers for an everyday order. At Thordata, SOCKS5 on residential needs Enterprise KYC.

When Thordata is the better buy

• City or ASN targeting at volume. From its 150 GB block, Thordata's rate is below our Premium's.
• A free 3-day trial with no credit card.
• A wide product line: scraping APIs, a SERP API, a scraping browser, datasets and high-bandwidth proxies, plus static ISP proxies advertised from $0.75 per IP.
• A published ladder. Every rung from 1 GB to 5,000 GB carries a real price, with nothing held back for a sales call. Our residential proxy price study shows how rare that is.

When HProxy is the better buy

• Country-level traffic. Lite beats every Thordata block on price.
• City or ASN targeting under 150 GB. Premium is the cheaper of the two there.
• No 30-day clock. The balance does not expire, so you can buy for the work you have.
• SOCKS5 with no KYC. Premium adds UDP and sessions of up to 24 hours.
• A wider refund window. Unused balance stays refundable for 14 days, whether you paid by card or crypto.
• Other proxy types from the same balance. ISP, datacenter and mobile sit next to residential.

Which seller suits which buyer?

Pick Thordata for city or ASN-targeted residential traffic above 150 GB that you will use within the month. It also suits teams that want scraping APIs from the same account.

Choose HProxy for country-level traffic at the lowest price per GB, or for targeted traffic in smaller amounts. Premium is the pick when a job needs SOCKS5, UDP or a session longer than 90 minutes.
