For a Taiwanese IP, your requests have to leave through a Taiwanese internet provider. A residential proxy does that with a household address. Taiwanese sites then show you the local version, with New Taiwan dollar prices and Taiwanese search results.
Taiwan's address space has an unusual owner list. Chunghwa Telecom holds 40.4% of it, and a government network the next 15.9%. Seller pools come to 10.7% or less of the 35.7 million addresses. And all 10 working free Taiwanese proxies on our list were flagged on October 26, 2026. Our residential proxies target Taiwan at $0.50/GB for one GB.
Which networks does a Taiwanese IP come from?
APNIC, the internet registry for the Asia Pacific region, lists every block it gives out, with the holder's country. Its file, with records to October 24, 2026, lists 35,734,272 IPv4 addresses for Taiwan, in 1,076 blocks held by 414 holders:
Chunghwa's HiNet records cover 12,259,328 addresses and its mobile business group 2,166,784 more. The Government Service Network ranks second with 5,665,792 across 182 blocks. Far EasTone and Taiwan Mobile, the next two operators, hold 3.2 and 2.5 million.
Public institutions take a large share. National Taiwan University alone holds 2,179,072 addresses, more than most Taiwanese operators. Cable networks such as KBT and Nan-Kuo CATV come next, and the ten largest records hold 78.1% of the space.
Six in ten Taiwanese users can reach sites over IPv6. APNIC Labs measured 59.7% in the 30 days to October 23, 2026, against 49.6% in October 2020.
What do the advertised Taiwanese pools come to?
A tenth of the registry at most. We read five sellers' Taiwan pages through our server on October 26, 2026:
Bright Data's page carries two counts: 630,161 in the title and 157,540 Taiwan IPs in the text, a quarter of the first.
The spread is wide: Shifter's figure is 79 times SOAX's. DataImpulse adds a time frame, with 5,609 unique Taiwanese IPs in a day, 26,711 in 30 days and 2,807 online at once. A pool count tells you little until you know what it counts. We keep our own per-country pool size unpublished.
What changes behind a Taiwanese IP?
Search results, prices and ads switch to their Taiwanese versions. Google's help page notes that "IP addresses are roughly based on geography" and that location "helps to show you nearby results". Residential Lite covers Taiwan at the lowest rate. Residential Premium can pick a city. Our Taiwan proxies page lists 79 of them, among them Taipei, New Taipei City, Taichung and Kaohsiung, with 42 networks.
Every site keeps its own rules for proxy traffic. A detection vendor, MaxMind, sells an Anonymous IP database with a flag for residential proxies. Our guide to how websites detect proxies covers the other checks.
Why do free Taiwanese proxies fail?
Our tracker has logged 1,168 Taiwanese addresses from public free proxy lists since May 13, 2026, and 190 worked at least once. On October 26, 10 were working. Six sat on Chunghwa Telecom, one on the National Center for High-performance Computing and two on cloud networks.
An IP reputation check had flagged all 10 and reported all 10 for recent abuse. Ten flagged addresses will not carry real work, so keep them for testing. Our free proxy list for Taiwan shows any that are working now.
How do you pay from Taiwan?
Pay with a Visa or Mastercard card from $10, or with crypto from $3. The money sits in one balance that never expires. Our guide to buying proxies with crypto explains each network's fee. PayPal is not offered, and the payment options page lists what is.
How much traffic does a Taiwanese job use?
Roughly 380 full desktop pages per GB. HTTP Archive's 2024 median desktop page weighed 2,652 KB, and the mobile one 2,311 KB. Requests for text alone weigh far less, so test twenty pages of your own target first.
Which one should you buy?
For Taiwan, Residential Lite with the country set covers most work, at $0.50/GB for one GB and $0.44 per GB at volume. Free proxies do not qualify: all ten working ones were flagged. Pick Residential Premium for a city, one of the 42 networks or a sticky session of up to 24 hours. It costs $1.49/GB for one GB and $1.00 per GB at volume, and our residential proxies page has every tier.
What this page could not check
- We tested no speed, success rate or block rate, on any network, ours included.
- Our own exits' Taiwanese networks, and how many there are, stay unpublished.
- APNIC's file counts addresses given out, which is neither the addresses in use nor a count of users.
- Seller pool numbers are what each page showed on October 26, 2026. We could not check what each one counts.
- The free proxy figures come from one day and one IP reputation check.
- We will check every number on this page again by January 26, 2027.
