The marketplace is the variable, not the volume
Amazon is not one site. The price, the Buy Box winner, the delivery promise and often the listing itself differ by marketplace, and Amazon decides which one you see partly from your exit IP. A scraper running from the wrong country produces clean, confident, useless numbers.
So the first question is not how many requests you can push, it is whether every request left from the country whose marketplace you meant to read. That is why the country matters more here than on almost any other target.
Scraping and account work want opposite things
Scraping wants rotation: a fresh address per request spreads the load and looks like many shoppers. Account work wants the opposite, a stable address that does not change under a logged-in session, because an account whose IP jumps mid-session looks exactly like a compromised one.
Buying one product for both jobs is the most common mistake here. Rotating residential for the data, a static address for anything behind a login.

Can I use datacenter proxies for Amazon?
For endpoints that do not challenge, yes, and they are much cheaper. For anything that checks, a datacenter address is identifiable as one.
Do I need a different proxy for each Amazon marketplace?
You need an exit in that marketplace's country. Amazon decides what to show you partly from your IP, so reading amazon.de from a US address gives you data that does not match what a German shopper sees.
Will free proxies work for Amazon?
For a one-off manual look at a single product page, sometimes. For scraping or account work, no. Most free proxies are datacenter IPs that die within minutes and only a fraction work at once.
