The cookie and the IP have to agree
AliExpress stores your region, currency and ship-to country in the aep_usuc_f cookie and cross-checks it against your IP, and that pairing is what decides the price and shipping you are shown. Set the region once and then hold the same sticky IP and cookies together; a mismatch between them is both less accurate and a clear bot tell.
Beyond the price gate there is a signing gate. The mobile H5 API signs each request with a rotating token hashed from the token, a timestamp, the app key and the request body, so anyone scraping through that API has to recompute the signature on every call. A replayed cookie is not enough.
What the IP does not do
A clean residential IP clears reputation and geography and nothing else. It does not answer the umid device fingerprint from Alibaba's in-page security SDK, the slide-to-verify slider, the H5 token, or the hard identifiers, payment method, phone, shipping address, that link buyer accounts. A clean IP driven by a bare HTTP client with a browser-wrong fingerprint still gets the puzzle.
That matters most for account work. Running several buyer accounts to re-claim new-user coupons and coin deals is something AliExpress works hard to catch and it cancels the abused orders, so a page that framed proxies as a coupon machine would be lying. The honest use is reading the market cleanly; the accounts are a smaller, riskier corner of it.

Because the slider is Alibaba's anti-bot module reading your device fingerprint and behaviour, not just your IP. A clean address driven by a bare script that fingerprints wrong still gets the puzzle. The IP is one layer; a real browser fingerprint and human pacing are the others.
