Why mobile is the most expensive and still often the right call
A carrier assigns the same public address to thousands of real subscribers at once. That makes a mobile IP the hardest kind to act against: blocking it means blocking a slice of a mobile network, which sites are extremely reluctant to do. You are paying for that reluctance.
It follows that mobile is wasted on work that nothing is defending. If your target does not challenge a datacenter address, buying mobile is buying trust you had no need for.
Why the unit is a gigabyte
Billing by the gigabyte means you pay for what you move and nothing else. There is no monthly line to keep alive between jobs and no modem to rent, so a burst of work in one afternoon costs what that work actually used.
