A proxy provider is not a product you can evaluate from a screenshot. It is a network, and networks age. What was true about BrightLocal a year ago may be wrong today, which is why the last section is a test rather than a verdict.
What is on file for BrightLocal
You will find them at brightlocal.com.
We have no verified current rate for BrightLocal on file. Printing a guess would make this page worse than useless, so the price row below is empty and the reading list is not.
Find the rate available with no commitment, then find the cheapest rate and what it costs to reach. The distance between those two tells you what kind of vendor you are dealing with.
Their own description, read this week
Their homepage title, read on 9 September 2026: "BrightLocal - Local SEO Platform, Citations, Services, and APIs". Written for search engines, their description says: "Local marketing made simple. Join 15,000+ agencies and businesses using BrightLocal to rank higher, beat competitors, and grow revenue. Try for FREE."
Reading the same page for the things buyers actually ask about:
They advertise 250 countries or locations. The page offers some form of free trial. Their pricing page is titled "BrightLocal Pricing, Plans and Local SEO Packages, Try Free".
Those are claims, and claims are free. They earn their place here only because the date makes them checkable later.
How far back the record goes
The domain was registered on 10 May 2010, through Cloudflare, Inc, which makes it about 16 years old. Checked against the registry on 9 September 2026. The registration currently runs to 10 May 2028.
This proves nothing about the product. It is a cheap check against the one failure mode that costs buyers real money in this market, which is paying a provider that will not exist in six months.
What BrightLocal publishes
We crawled 1.148 pages of their site on 19 June 2026 and found 699 blog pages, 1 pricing page and 1 use-case page.
The number is not a compliment or a criticism. It describes how much of their effort goes into being found, which is worth knowing when you are weighing a marketing claim against a measurement.
How active BrightLocal still is
Our crawl of their site found 1,139 pages carrying a date, 692 of them articles. The oldest is from February 2014 and the newest from August 2026. 619 of them carry a date inside the last twelve months.
Read that as a liveness check rather than a review. It says the lights are on, and nothing about whether the proxies work on your target.
What the search data says about BrightLocal
Search volume around the name runs to 700 a month, split as 320 a month for their pricing, 210 a month for a review of them and 170 a month for an alternative to them. Figures read from Google Keyword Planner on 9 September 2026.
The biggest slice is people trying to work out what it costs, so the useful thing to hand a reader is evidence rather than an opinion.
The top bid on those terms reaches $15.86 a click. That is the market pricing its own customers, and it explains why almost every other result you found is an affiliate page.
The questions behind the numbers
Why the pool number is the least useful figure
The number that matters is how many usable exits you can reach in the one country your job needs, this week. A pool total averages that away, which is why two providers with similar totals produce opposite results on the same site.
What the starting rate leaves out
A starting rate is a marketing number. What you pay depends on the tier your volume lands in, the minimum purchase, and what happens to traffic you bought and did not use. An expiring balance quietly raises the price of every unit you did consume.
A commitment is part of the price
The lowest published rate in this market usually sits behind a monthly commitment measured in thousands. Quoting it beside a pay as you go rate is not a comparison. Compare the rate you can reach today.
The comparison, honestly framed
Six questions, both answers, and an honest blank where we do not hold a current figure:
| Question to ask | BrightLocal | HProxy |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | Not verified by us, read their page | From $0.44/GB, pay as you go |
| Does unused balance expire? | Not published clearly, ask before paying | Never |
| Minimum commitment | Worth confirming in writing before you commit | None |
| Identity checks | Read their current terms | Card orders are screened, and verification is sometimes requested |
| Targeting | Check the current terms, this one moves | Country, city and ISP |
| Free way to evaluate | Their terms page answers this | Free proxy list and proxy checker |
The useful part of that table is the left column. Take those six questions to any provider in this market and the answers will sort them faster than any review.
What to do instead of reading more comparisons
The steps below take about ten minutes and settle the question properly.
- Take the smallest paid unit each provider will sell you. A free trial works for a first pass, though trials sometimes ride better pools than paid plans do.
- Fire the same batch through both on one afternoon. Different days are different conditions, and that ruins the comparison.
- Track the success rate and the bandwidth. A cheap gigabyte that fails half the time is not cheap.
- Run a sample of the addresses through an independent lookup, because advertised geography and actual geography differ more often than the market admits.
- Choose on the measurement, not the marketing, and expect the answer to change within a year.
Comparable providers
We hold the same record for these, and the same honest limits apply to each:
- Activesearchresults alternatives
- Adspower alternatives
- Airproxy alternatives
- Airvpn alternatives
- Ake alternatives
- Aktifproxy alternatives
Where we fit
The offer, stated once: residential from $0.44 per GB, pay per gigabyte, no subscription, balance does not expire, and free tools that stay usable without an account. Everything above this paragraph applies whether or not you choose us.
