Why a proxy company is writing about AltVPN
AltVPN is a VPN. HProxy sells proxies. If what you want is an encrypted tunnel for all of your traffic, with an app that protects the whole device, buy a VPN and stop reading here. We would rather lose the click than take a customer who needed something else.
The difference in one line: a VPN routes everything through one encrypted tunnel and hides your traffic from the network you are on. A proxy routes one application or one request through a chosen address, gives you control over which address and which country, and does not encrypt anything by itself. A VPN is for privacy on a network you do not trust. A proxy is for controlling where a request appears to come from.
If you are switching away from AltVPN because you kept hitting blocks while automating something, or because you needed a specific city or a stable address per session, that is a proxy problem and this page is for you. If you are switching because you want cheaper streaming or a better mobile app, it is not.

Take down four numbers and a date: reachable rate, minimum purchase, commitment for the floor rate, and expiry period. Anything less and you cannot compare them to anyone.
AltVPN in its own words
On 9 September 2026 the site introduced itself as "Ultimate Privacy & Security: Download ALT VPN Software". Their own summary of the product runs: "Shield your data with ALTVPN, the best online VPN service! Download our secure VPN software: anonymous browsing, military-grade encryption. Free trial!"
Taken from the same page, on the same day:
The product lines named on that page are mobile. Support is advertised as around the clock. A refund or money-back term is mentioned. Their pricing page is titled "404 - Page not found".
All of the above is their copy, not our finding. A dated quotation is the weakest kind of evidence that is still evidence.
Age, and why it matters here
The domain was registered on 3 January 2015, through GoDaddy.com, LLC, which makes it about 11 years old. The lookup behind those dates ran on 23 April 2026. The Internet Archive holds 6 snapshots of the site, the earliest from May 2020. As things stand the domain is held to 3 January 2027.
This proves nothing about the product. It is a cheap check against the one failure mode that costs buyers real money in this market, which is paying a provider that will not exist in six months.
What you still do not know after reading their site
Why the pool number is the least useful figure
Nobody audits pool totals in this market, and the counting rules differ between vendors. Even an accurate figure describes addresses that exist, not addresses you will be routed through. Treat it as a marketing unit rather than a capability.
The expiry question
Find out whether unspent traffic rolls over, expires, or expires only on some plans. The answer changes the effective rate by more than most of the price differences buyers spend their time arguing about.
A commitment is part of the price
A commitment converts a variable cost into a fixed one. That is a good trade at steady volume and a poor one otherwise, and the decision belongs to you rather than to whichever tier looks cheapest per unit.

Read the table as a list of questions rather than a scoreboard. The answers on their side move, and the row that decides the outcome, success rate on your target, is not printable by anyone.
The measurement that outranks every review
This costs less than a coffee and produces the only evidence that applies to your workload.
- Put a few dollars on each account. Trials are fine for a first look, but paid traffic is what you will actually be buying.
- Run them against the site you actually care about, using the code you actually run, within the same hour.
- Record the success rate and the data consumed for the identical batch on each side.
- Check some of the addresses yourself for country, ASN and type before you trust the label on the plan.
- Choose on the measurement, not the marketing, and expect the answer to change within a year.
