preventcancer.tk does not exist any more. The name stopped resolving, so a browser cannot even find a server to ask, and the last time anything answered there was July 2013.
The site behind the name
The Internet Archive's first working copy of preventcancer.tk is from July 2013 and it holds 4 days of captures in total.
The page called itself "Proxy Online". It ran on Glype, the script behind most free web proxies of that era.
Somebody submitted it to workingproxysites.com 13 years ago, and the directory counted 285 clicks on it. The listing places it in United States.
How it ended
The last capture that shows the proxy itself is from 29 July 2013 and the archive kept visiting until 18 January 2018.
This was not a site that failed on its own. .tk was one of five free domain endings run by Freenom, which froze new registrations in early 2023 after a lawsuit from Meta, and the free names died with the arrangement. In our census of the directory, 92 percent of the listed proxies sat on one of those free endings.
Where the address points now
We checked preventcancer.tk on 10 September 2026 from our own server. No address comes back for it at all, so a browser gives up before it can ask for a page.
What still works
The replacement for a dead web proxy is not another name to remember. Our free proxy list shows when each entry was last checked and re-verifies every few minutes, and the checker tests an address you bring yourself.
Free proxies stay shared and short lived. For opening a blocked page that is usually enough, and for anything that has to work at a particular moment it is not.
What this page cannot tell you
Why it stopped is not in the record. A dead name and an archive that runs out show that something ended, not the reason for it, and we will not put a reason in print that the record does not carry.
Our status check is one day from one vantage point, and a site that refuses requests from data centres would look the same as one that is switched off. We will check this page again by 1 January 2027.
