The page called itself "Ninja-cloak.info- Sponsored by FreeProxyTemplates.com". Underneath it was Glype, the same free script the rest of the directory ran.
It was listed on workingproxysites.com, a directory of free web proxies, 13 years ago, and that listing counted 1,667 clicks through to it. The directory recorded it as United States.
When it stopped
The last capture that shows the proxy itself is from 8 April 2012 and the archive kept visiting until 16 July 2025.
What the name does today
We checked ninja-cloak.info on 10 September 2026 from our own server in Germany. It answers with parked.
People still look for it: 10 searches a month for the name, according to Google's Keyword Planner read on 10 September 2026.
What to use instead
Use a list somebody keeps checking rather than a name that used to work. Our free proxy list is re-verified every few minutes, and an address that stops answering leaves it instead of sitting there for years. If you already have an address, the proxy checker will tell you whether it still relays anything.
The limits of free are the same everywhere, ours included: the addresses are shared, so the sites that care have seen them before, and there is no session to hold, so logins break part way through.
What this page cannot tell you
Why it stopped is not in the record. A dead name and an archive that runs out show that something ended, not the reason for it, and we will not put a reason in print that the record does not carry.
Our status check is one day from one vantage point, and a site that refuses requests from data centres would look the same as one that is switched off. We will check this page again by 1 January 2027.
