Myproxy.biz is gone: what the record shows, and what to use

Myproxy.biz was a free web proxy the archive first saved in November 2013. What it was, when it stopped, what the name does today, and a list that is still checked.

Skip the dead lists.

Our free proxy list re-checks every exit every few minutes across 100+ countries, with a live last-checked time, so you copy IPs that worked moments ago, not a stale text dump.

myproxy.biz is somebody else's site now. The address answers, but what loads has nothing to do with the proxy that used to be there, whose last working capture dates to November 2013.

What it was

The Internet Archive's first working copy of myproxy.biz is from November 2013 and it holds 4 days of captures in total.

The page called itself "Hide Traces". The directory recorded it as a Glype install, which is what nearly all of these sites were.

Browsing sites through our anonymous web proxy helps in hiding identity from the websites you visit and allows you to bypass any restrictions from your office, school or whatever.

That is the site's own description, from the capture of 18 November 2013.

It was listed on workingproxysites.com, a directory of free web proxies, 13 years ago, and that listing counted 123 clicks through to it.

When it stopped

The last capture that shows the proxy itself is from 18 November 2013 and the archive kept visiting until 24 July 2023.

What the name does today

We checked myproxy.biz on 10 September 2026 from our own server in Germany. It answers, and the page is titled "myproxy.biz".

Where to go from here

A list with a visible last-checked time beats a remembered domain. Ours re-verifies every few minutes; the checker tests a single address if you would rather bring your own.

Expect what free has always meant: shared addresses that targets recognise, and no session persistence, which breaks anything behind a login.

What this page cannot tell you

Why it stopped is not in the record. A dead name and an archive that runs out show that something ended, not the reason for it, and we will not put a reason in print that the record does not carry.

Our status check is one day from one vantage point, and a site that refuses requests from data centres would look the same as one that is switched off. We will check this page again by 1 January 2027.

Frequently asked questions

Is myproxy.biz still working?
No. The address now serves a different site, checked on 10 September 2026. The proxy's last working capture in the archive is from November 2013.
What was myproxy.biz?
A free web proxy running the Glype script. Its own page said: Browsing sites through our anonymous web proxy helps in hiding identity from the websites you visit and allows you to bypass any restrictions from your office, school or whatever.
What can I use instead of myproxy.biz?
A list that is re-checked rather than a name someone remembers. Our free proxy list is re-verified every few minutes, so entries that stop answering drop off it. Free proxies stay shared and short lived, so anything behind a login will still break.
