linki.ca does not answer. The name still resolves, but nothing responded to our request, and the archive's last working copy is from May 2010.
What it was
The Internet Archive's first working copy of linki.ca is from January 2010 and it holds 9 days of captures in total.
The page called itself "Linki | The Internet In One Page". The directory recorded it as a PHProxy install, which is what nearly all of these sites were.
It was listed on workingproxysites.com, a directory of free web proxies, 6 years ago, and that listing counted 2,846 clicks through to it.
When it stopped
The last capture that shows the proxy itself is from 27 May 2010 and the archive kept visiting until 15 March 2026.
What the name does today
We checked linki.ca on 10 September 2026 from our own server in Germany. It answers, and the page is titled "Mail Capture Pro".
Where to go from here
A list with a visible last-checked time beats a remembered domain. Ours re-verifies every few minutes; the checker tests a single address if you would rather bring your own.
Expect what free has always meant: shared addresses that targets recognise, and no session persistence, which breaks anything behind a login.
What this page cannot tell you
Why it stopped is not in the record. A dead name and an archive that runs out show that something ended, not the reason for it, and we will not put a reason in print that the record does not carry.
Our status check is one day from one vantage point, and a site that refuses requests from data centres would look the same as one that is switched off. We will check this page again by 1 January 2027.
