The site behind the name
The Internet Archive's first working copy of ipcloak.us is from July 2012 and it holds 66 days of captures in total.
It ran on Glype, the script behind most free web proxies of that era.
Somebody submitted it to workingproxysites.com 12 years ago, and the directory counted 287 clicks on it. The listing places it in France.
How it ended
The last capture that returned a page at all is from 23 January 2020.
By 23 January 2020 the same address answered with something else: the capture from that day is titled "ipcloak.us - Registered at Namecheap.com".
Where the address points now
We checked ipcloak.us on 10 September 2026 from our own server. No address comes back for it at all, so a browser gives up before it can ask for a page.
What still works
The replacement for a dead web proxy is not another name to remember. Our free proxy list shows when each entry was last checked and re-verifies every few minutes, and the checker tests an address you bring yourself.
Free proxies stay shared and short lived. For opening a blocked page that is usually enough, and for anything that has to work at a particular moment it is not.
What this page cannot tell you
Why it stopped is not in the record. A dead name and an archive that runs out show that something ended, not the reason for it, and we will not put a reason in print that the record does not carry.
Our status check is one day from one vantage point, and a site that refuses requests from data centres would look the same as one that is switched off. We will check this page again by 1 January 2027.
