What it was
Almost nothing survives of firmfill.tk. The Internet Archive never kept a working page from it, which is common for a site that ran for a season on a free address.
It ran on Glype, the script behind most free web proxies of that era.
It was listed on workingproxysites.com, a directory of free web proxies, 13 years ago, and the directory counted 124 clicks on it.
The end of it
A free proxy on a free domain has the lifespan of the domain. .tk names came from Freenom at no cost, Freenom stopped handing them out in early 2023 under legal pressure from Meta, and the existing ones stopped answering during the year that followed. That is why almost the entire directory went quiet at once rather than one site at a time.
The address today
We checked firmfill.tk on 10 September 2026 from our own server. The name does not resolve: there is no address behind it, so nothing can be served from it.
What we would use
Skip the name-hunting. The free proxy list we publish is re-verified every few minutes and shows exactly when each address last answered, and the checker will test an address from an old bookmark before you rely on it.
The honest caveat stays: a free proxy is shared and short lived, and anything behind a login tends to break part way through.
The limits of this record
The record shows when, not why. Nothing public says whether the operator lost interest, lost the hosting, or simply moved on, so this page does not guess.
One check, one day, one place: that is the honest weight of what we measured, since a site blocking data centre traffic reads exactly like a site that is gone. The next check is due by 1 January 2027.
