BuiltWith Pricing: What $295 a Month Actually Unlocks

The Basic plan covers exactly two technologies, so a third forces the $495 Pro plan and a 68 percent jump in monthly spend.

BuiltWith sells lists of websites, not requests or bandwidth. The Basic plan is $295 a month and covers exactly two technologies. A third one has no price of its own, so it costs $200 a month. The only way to reach it is the $495 plan. This page sets out every published limit and works out what each step really buys. All figures were read from their plans page on 9 September 2026.

We buy web data ourselves rather than sell it in this shape. Read this as a customer's reading rather than a rival's.

The short version

Basic is $295 a month for two technologies, two keywords and two retail reports. Pro at $495 makes all three unlimited, so the third technology effectively costs $200. Team at $995 lists the same unlimited allowances as Pro, and the only published difference is seats. Yearly billing is exactly ten times the monthly price on every plan, which is two months free.

What BuiltWith publishes

Keywords and retail reports follow the technology column exactly. Basic gives two of each monthly or twenty-four yearly, and both higher plans list all three as unlimited.

The yearly price is exactly ten times the monthly

Check each row and the same rule holds. Basic is $295 and $2,950, Pro is $495 and $4,950, Team is $995 and $9,950.

Twelve months therefore cost the same as ten, which is a saving of about 16.7 percent. That is a clean and honest structure, and it needs no calculator to verify.

The yearly view does something else that the page does not spell out. On Basic it grants twenty-four technologies for the year rather than two per month.

That is a real difference in flexibility rather than only a discount. A team wanting twenty reports in January can do that on a yearly plan. A monthly plan will not allow it.

The third technology costs $200

This is the sharpest step on the page. Basic covers two technologies and there is no way to buy a third on that plan.

What each technology costs, by plan

Our arithmetic: the monthly plan price divided by the number of technologies covered. Advertised figures read 9 September 2026.

Read the third row against the second. Adding one technology raises the bill by $200, a jump of 68 percent.

Read the fourth row and the picture flips. From four technologies onward, Pro costs less per technology than Basic ever did.

So Basic suits exactly one situation, which their own page names well. It says the plan suits fixed scope requirements, and that is precisely right.

Anyone whose scope might grow past two should price Pro from the start. The middle of this ladder punishes an accurate forecast far less than an optimistic one.

The $500 between Pro and Team buys seats

Set the two higher plans side by side and the published difference is narrow. Both list unlimited technologies, unlimited keywords and unlimited retail reports.

The comparison table names one difference. Pro includes one system login and Team includes unlimited pro logins.

So a second person using the account costs $500 a month, or $5,000 a year. That is the whole gap as published.

For a solo operator, Pro is the ceiling of what the data itself can give. For a team of five, the same data costs twice as much because five people need it.

The free version is the one most people use

Their plans page states that BuiltWith is free to use for individual site lookups forever. That is the tool most visitors arrive for, and it costs nothing.

What the paid plans add is the reverse lookup. Instead of asking what one site runs, you ask which sites run one thing, and export the answer.

That is a genuinely different job, and it is where the money sits. Anyone weighing a plan should be clear which of the two they actually need.

Why there is no cost per lead here

Every other teardown in this series converts a vendor to one comparable number. This page does not, and the reason is worth stating.

The unit sold is a report, and a report has no fixed size. A niche technology may return a handful of domains while a common one returns millions.

Both cost the same, because the plan prices access rather than volume. So a cost per lead exists only once you know which technology you are pulling.

The method is still simple. Divide the plan price by the technologies you will track. Then divide again by the domains each report returns for you.

That second number is the one nobody else can supply. It is also the one that decides whether $295 a month is cheap or expensive for your job.

The commitment and the cancellation

The published minimum is one month on monthly billing and one year on yearly billing. Anytime cancellation is offered on both.

One term is worth quoting because it is unusually clear. Their page states that a cancelled account stays active for the full term of access already paid for.

That removes a common annoyance, where cancelling ends access immediately and forfeits the remainder. Here the remainder is honoured.

The yearly commitment is still a year of money. On Basic that is $2,950 committed up front against $295 a month, so the discount and the lock arrive together.

Who this pricing suits

BuiltWith suits sales and research teams tracking a fixed, small set of technologies. Basic at two technologies is narrow, and it is priced for exactly that shape.

It suits anyone tracking more than three technologies better on Pro. The per-technology cost falls quickly once the cap is gone, reaching under $10 at fifty.

It suits single users far better than teams. The published difference between Pro and Team is seats, and one extra seat costs as much as Basic.

It suits anyone comparing on volume poorly, because volume is not what is sold. Every other vendor in this series prices requests or gigabytes, and this one prices access.

The Nimble teardown prices web data by the request. The DataForSEO teardown prices it per task instead.

What we could not verify

Team Ultra is named on the plans page with no price and no allowances attached. We recorded its existence and nothing more.

BuiltWith publishes a long list of APIs, including domain, lists, trends and keyword endpoints. We found no prices for any of them on the API index page we read.

No list sizes are published for any technology. Without them, no cost per domain or per lead can be derived from public figures.

The euro figures shown beside each dollar price are marked as approximate on the page. We report the dollar prices, which are the stated ones.

Frequently asked questions

How much does BuiltWith cost?
Three plans are published. Basic is $295 a month or $2,950 a year, Pro is $495 a month or $4,950 a year, and Team is $995 a month or $9,950 a year. A Team Ultra option is mentioned without a price. Individual site lookups remain free forever, and all figures were read on 9 September 2026.
What does the BuiltWith Basic plan actually include?
Two technologies, two keywords, two retail reports and one system login, on the monthly billing option. The yearly version of the same plan grants twenty-four of each instead, which is the same rate spread differently. Anyone needing a third technology in a month has no incremental option and must move up to Pro.
Is BuiltWith yearly billing cheaper?
Yes, and the arithmetic is unusually clean. Each yearly price is exactly ten times the monthly one, so twelve months cost the same as ten. That is a saving of about 16.7 percent on every plan. On Basic it also changes the shape of the allowance, granting all twenty-four technologies up front rather than two per month.
What is the difference between BuiltWith Pro and Team?
Seats, according to the published comparison. Both list unlimited technologies, unlimited keywords and unlimited retail reports. The only difference in the table is that Pro includes one system login while Team includes unlimited pro logins. So the $500 monthly gap between them buys additional users rather than additional data.
Is there a free version of BuiltWith?
Yes, and it is the version most people use. Their plans page states that BuiltWith is free to use for individual site lookups forever. What the paid plans add is the ability to build and export lists of every site using a given technology, which is a different job from checking one domain.
Can you work out a cost per lead on BuiltWith?
Not from the published figures, and we did not try. The unit sold is a report rather than a lead, and the number of domains in a report depends entirely on which technology you pick. A niche technology may return a handful of sites while a common one returns millions, at the same plan price.
